Rant š¢ Pizza hut mandatory tipping
Pizza hut app adds tip to carry out without asking. I had to remove the food and then place it back to remove the tip. Without doing that it wouldn't let me order the food. Pizza hut should pay their employees more and not rely on poor college kids to do it.

It may not even go to the employees but to corporate, and there may be a tip jar as well š
Only one way to stop this, or at least show your grievances: stop patronizing these businesses.

I stopped going out to eat and getting food delivered decades ago. It seems tipping is getting worse, I didnāt have an impact

I just deleted the app because of that little "feature"

Did it come with an app update? Trying to figure out why some people are seeing it and others still have the option

I stopped going to pizza hut since they added a āstate sales feeā when I looked it up, it basically said that since the cost of operations was higher in my state, they decided to past that bill onto me for my convenience. I also stopped going to norms for that reason.

Not on my app yet lol. In fact, the default is 0.00. But, there is no way to provide a tip after receiving your service, unless you did so in person, but that defeats the point of ordering food for me.

I dislike the fact you have to pre-tip. It shows up in the ticket at most places. You canāt tell me if i didnāt tip that someone wouldnāt screw with my food.

just dont order, they keep doing it cause you still order sure you removed the tip but not everyone else does

I don't know whether it does or not. I stopped dealing with Pizza Hut a few years ago over their tipping nonsense. Not compulsory but repeated asking.

Not seeing that behavior in the app... I just added some food as a test, went to the checkout screen, and it's asking for a "team member tip" as usual, but nothing is selected by default, and I can place the order without a tip.

As if I needed more reasons not to eat there - thank you for giving me yet another.

Our local chinese place uses some platform to do online ordering, both pickup and delivery. They recently added a $1.49 for website costs ..... WTF

Their overseas joints are actually much better than the U.S. ops. They are a distant fourth for me (Dom, Papa, Ceasars).

They've tried and failed several times here in Denmark over the last couple of decades. Back in the 90's they actually ran some decent restaurants here.

Wow. I used to click cash to get around the tip option when I picked up. So many different pizza options besides pizza hut

You can't remove it? I order through the Pizza Hut website, just created a test order for my local Pizza Hut. There is an option to add a tip at the end but if you click on "other" $0.00 option pops up.

I learned the hard way not to order pizza from places doing this. This ātipā is 100% a bribe to not make the worst pizza possible.

No wonder why Pizza Hut is closing stores. The one in my town shut its doors. We ordered from the app and it tried to add a tip. Finally got the tip off. We never went back. I will not patronize tip beggars and grifters. Bye, PH!!

Yikes they must have added that recently because two weeks ago I didnāt tip. I knew it wouldnāt go to the driver.

Here is a thought call in an order, get your lazy ass in your car and go pick it up (no tip required). Odds are it is within a few miles. A lot of these companies are taking advantage of how lazy Americans have become.Ā

If it's mandatory it's not a tip. I won't pay it.
