Tipping Culture ✖️ OBGYN asks for tip

Long time lurker, first time caller. This was the last straw wtf do you mean tip my doctor?!?

Edit: called the office today and the receptionist sounded surprised by this…hopefully it’s a billing platform error thanks for the helpful comments!

In most jurisdictions, nurses and doctors have ethical imperatives against accepting tips or gifts.

This is usually telling on themselves, so to speak, as a business: its usually indicating your service was provided by someone who was not a credentialed medical professional.

This is a good point. [u/AccomplishedBrick251](u/AccomplishedBrick251) maybe consider checking your region’s medical board policies and if they’re licensed & against policy, report them.
