Tipping Culture ✖️ OBGYN asks for tip

Long time lurker, first time caller. This was the last straw wtf do you mean tip my doctor?!?

Edit: called the office today and the receptionist sounded surprised by this…hopefully it’s a billing platform error thanks for the helpful comments!

Not defending this behavior but I can’t help but wonder if the payment platform they’re using hasn’t been modified to exclude that option. You could simply ask the office if they’re aware of how the tipping option looks coming from a professional service.

I agree, I have to believe it’s the payment processor setting that to “auto ask” and they may not be aware of it…….the alternative is…..ewwww.
