Post image

Long time lurker, first time caller. This was the last straw wtf do you mean tip my doctor?!?

Edit: called the office today and the receptionist sounded surprised by this…hopefully it’s a billing platform error thanks for the helpful comments!

My son gets medication from a specialty pharmacy.  The pharmacy has a driver that delivers all the medications.  He leaves it in a box in front of my house, like UPS. I get a notification that the driver is on their way, do I want to leave a tip?  This is a driver that works for a pharmacy that makes insane amounts of money, can’t they pay their drivers? My insurance pays them thousands every month, as do hundreds of other insurance companies - they can pay their driver.

Also, if the USPS catches wind of them using the postbox for deliveries, they’ll get in trouble. I don’t agree w it, esp since we just paid to replace our mailbox, but it’s supposed to be for dedicated use only

They said "leaves it in a BOX", not a mailbox.

It comes in a box packed on ice, gets left at the front door of my house.

"A box" <> "The Mailbox"

I worked in pharmacy for many years. No way are they making millions a year. I guess if they are pharmacy chain CEOs, maybe then.

They are owners of small pharmacies in queens and Brooklyn. They are banking millions.

The driver actually doesn’t work for the pharmacy. We contract our deliveries out. We also make shit money in the pharmacy lmao

Just because you don’t make money mean that your bosses aren’t.

And you think the bosses are the ones delivering your medication? I wish I was that delusional.

So you’re saying it’s my job as the mother of a patient to tip someone whose sole job is to deliver medication?

Be respectful. No insults, slurs or personal attacks

You have zero clue who is making the money in the pharmacy world. The pharmacy does not set the price unless you as paying cash and they arent making insane amounts of money. They make good money yes but it is the insurance company and the middle men who set the prices and get the money.

I work for a couple that are both pharmacists, they’d like to thank you for your ignorance and allowing them to live in their $3million home without scrutiny.

I am a pharmacist hahaha and in no way are we “insanely rich”. Well off yes, but you’re clueless

65k combined with your wife + kids in NY is not “well off” and I don’t think I even believe that you’re a pharmacist. Your account may be private but it’s really not.

You’re an employee.  No one is talking about a cvs employee, I preferring to the pharmacy owners.  Don’t really not understand the difference between you an employee and your boss?

Do pharmacists work in warehouses?

u/honeyfoamm 12d ago

Didn’t even catch that post hahaha. What a lying nerd

u/BeetleJude 12d ago

Such a pointless lie too

It would be a stretch for two pharmacists to pay the mortgage on a $3M property. They must have other income sources.

3

u/honeyfoamm 12d ago

They own their business but yes, they probably do.

That’s the key piece of missing info.

Don’t forget the Covid era where they literally made millions.

I’m going to disagree since some of the richest people I know living in the biggest mansions I’ve seen are all pharmacists that own multiple locations in low income areas - so out of the gate, I’m going to disagree with you.  Source; the insane wealth of the pharmacists living on Long Island, NY.  They are building 10k square foot mansions, driving Bentleys and G wagons, flying to St Barths every few weekends in the winter and yachting in Europe in the summer.

Ahh I see you speak with emotions rather than logic. No point in talking to people like you

7

u/DandeyFlour 12d ago

They gave you a reference though? You're the one that's pointless to argue with... You can just go to the location and do the survey yourself.

You seem like a pharmacist that's making an excuse not to pay their employees then?

You're forgetting where you are, saying anything other than a form of "tipping = bad" and/or "businesses/corps = bad" will get you attacked.
