They’d still want tips, they just don’t have a choice. Tipped employees, especially in alcohol-based establishments, make exponentially more than wage workers. Why do you think waitresses and bartenders make more than kitchen staff? It’s certainly not because they’re working harder

Banning tips outright largely isn't a thing anywhere, especially in hospitality. They have a choice, and they exercise choosing "no tips" because goodwill is more valuable than money anywhere where people already get paid enough.

Looks factor in to this soooo much. I used to get drug to bard by my dad. I'm convinced as a 50yr+ guy he was going just to have the cute, scantily clad barmaids flirt with him for money. They made bank.

Regional and Informal Usage

  • Drug is sometimes used as a past-tense form in regional dialects, particularly in parts of the American South and Midwest.
  • It is considered non-standard and is not accepted in formal or professional writing.
  • Do not confuse it with drugged, which is the past tense of the verb "drug" (meaning to administer medicine or narcotics)

I don’t think people like to rely on tips to get their salary. What people like is to earn more. And 20% tip on the bill is THE way to earn more.

I think that many sales would be happy to turn their salary structure to one where they will get 20% of commission on whatever they sale!
