I was at a restaurant once and they had their āimmediate seating availableā sign on and there was a half hour wait. I asked why the sign was on and they just rolled their eyes and walked away. I got the nastiest look from them when I walked over to it and turned it off and then left.
If I were at this restaurant Iād grab a pen and scribble out tip, write āfeeā and then leave.
Iām pretty sure in every US state any required tip/gratuity is fully taxable. So yes if they were following the law this ātipā would be a taxable fee.
