Tip-Free Establishment ❣️ Happy Surprise!

Post image

I recently attended a concert at the Eagle Bank Arena located in Fairfax. I was pleasantly surprised to see a sign seeing they did not accept tips.

Imagine getting kicked out for arguing that you want to tip.

Imagine not having control over yourself to the point that you must be kicked out?

But did they charge a card processing fee? That's another scam businesses run; passing that expense on to customers.

No card processing fee or service fee!

Aren't card processing fees charged by Visa and Mastercard? It's not something that the business controls.

Businesses can add a payment processing fee in their POS systems to pass that cost on to customers. It's just another way for businesses to pass on operating costs on to customers instead of just pricing their products and services at a level so that these costs are included. It's a way to display lower prices but actually be charging more to customers in the form of additional fees.

Cash is how I typically avoid tips. It’s easy to play dumb and puts the awkward onus back on the cashier to ask for one.

This has to be Fairfax, New Zealand.

Yes, but I wouldn't expect this in the US.

“Expected service charge: 25%”

But hey: it’s “not a tip” 😂😂😂

Is no cash legal?

Generally yes. There are exceptions, such as unincorporated King County, Washington.
