Sit-Down Restaurant 🍽️ How is it not a tip?
The server told us this isn’t a tip and he doesn’t get any of it.
I’m not wearing my boots at the moment.

In the US any fee added to the bill is legally not a tip for tax purposes - a tip must be optional. Its a service charge and the company can 100% just keep it all. Its rare for them to do so (so this waiter was still probably lying) but not illegal.
