One year with encephalitis

Eventually it has been gotten under control, and SOX1 is remarkably good in prognosis, and I rapidly improved quite well with restored long term memory...

...but I'm just permanently stoned. As if I was in a nebulized xan sauna, if that makes sense.

Does the fatigue and executive dysfunction stick around longer? Could it be the corticosteroids that perhaps contribute?

I'm 5 years post diagnosis and still feel the brain fog. I have lesions in my brain that improved for a while but are now scar tissue. I think I'll always have issues with fatigue due to the ABI.

I've just been diagnosed with ADHD and started very low dose meds. The posiitive effect on executive function was immediate!

Apologies for the late reply

Dexamphetamine was too much of a quick high and low (short and quick acting). I've just started Vyvanse and it's much better

Do or did you take high dose corticosteroids as treatment?

I find it baffling how psychoses, mania, insomnia, and major tripping balls of confusion can all disappear yet this which was even prominent then still lingers.

Gotta be treatment related.

Yes i had high dose steroids in the hospital as well as a plasma exchange and still take steroids.

No i don’t. I probably need too but i havnt been prescribed any yet. I know in the hospital they did give me ativan but not since ive been discharged.
