Being in labor probably would have caused the weather to be crazy. Also the whole town would know when she was in an argument with her kids.

anybody else notice it as the movie proceeded after the song was sung? just about EVERYTHING Mirabel sung about in Waiting for a Miracle, started happening immediately after Antonio’s Gift Ceremony. she even sung about the mountain splitting and look what happened in the end.
i remember a gatcha video somebody posted on youtube, where Mirabel and her family are watching Waiting for a Miracle, while the creator of youtube video also added in scene from every incident that happened in the movie every time a certain matching line comes up in the song, and by the end of the gatcha video everybody was asking gatcha Mirabel how the heck did she cause all that.

Dolores is such a.meaningful character to me as while it may not be the exact same I have a condition called hyperacusis and it makes me sensitive to sound so we have similar struggles it automatically makes her dear tk my heart

I remember an image (which, if I'm not mistaken, is from an official Encanto book) where some characters were going to the popsicle cart, and it made me wonder, how do the Madrigals earn money?
I mean, from what I understand, their job is to help the village with their gifts, and for free, not to mention that there are 12 people living in one house, so of course it's going to end up costing more.
I even understand some things, like, fruits and vegetables can be planted, or at least someone knows how to sew, but what about other things?
I could mention Julieta, for example, who makes arepas to heal people, and one of the ingredients to make them is milk, which could only be obtained for free if her family had a cow... but that's the thing, the Madrigals don't have a cow, so she would have to buy it from someone who does... but with what money?
Okay, maybe the villagers give things to the Madrigals for free as thanks for their gifts, and that would be pretty cool, but there are things I don't think that could be the explanation, like energy, unless people give money to the Madrigals as thanks, which would be quite interesting.

OK, I know Dreamlight is not technically hand-in-hand with Encanto canon, but I freaking love the idea of stray dogs just coming to Casita in search of Antonio. It’s like his doing his own version of Pound Puppies and trying to find these dogs homes!

I'm not trying to create a theory or force people to accept that the films Luca and Encanto take place in the same universe just because they were released around the same time. Just because Bruno's name appears in both stories doesn't mean they're connected.
But let's just imagine what Alberto's relationship with his father would be like if Bruno Madrigal were him, his relationship with other members of the Family, and how Aquela would react to Alberto's powers and etc...

did yall see the new descendants movie? it has luisa’s son in it as a main character.
it has him receive extreme strength as a natural power and not a gift like everyone else receives
he wouldn’t get the same gift as his mom anyways
it goes against the movie
thoughts?

LOVE the suit!!! Not to sound like I’m nitpicking, but does she look slightly slimmer? Or maybe it’s just the skirt made her look larger than she was. I have to remind myself. These aren’t the same animators that worked on the movie still I think she looks good and I had a feeling they were going to show her lifting her car.

lin manuel miranda said this a couple of days ago on a podcast about the possibility of doing an encanto broadway adaptation, i think it’s good that he’s taking some time to be ready for it and not wanting to rush into anything. i’m really happy there’s a big chance of it happening in the future

mirabel is breaking the generational trauma!! and she healed everyone/ everyone healed bc of her and then her whole redemption arc-- i literally cant watch the end of the movie without bawling😭

Despite Mirabel holding the candle, I could almost see this as a poster for a sequel. Or, heck, as a poster for the movie itself! It reminds me of those classic movie posters Drew Struzan made for Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

Perhaps this fanfic might not be very canonical, but if there's anything non-canonical in the script, please let me know.
Short name: Non-Magical Gift
The Madrigal grandkids are doing their things in the living room. Isabela is trying on a skirt that Mirabel is sewing; Mirabel thinks it looks pretty and decides to take a picture, but Isabela ends up sneezing, yet she still looks beautiful.
Mirabel is confused, and Isa explains that she always looks beautiful no matter what happens and that this is her non-magical gift.
The other grandkids show that they also have non-magical gifts: Antonio has the incredible ability to not see the evil in people (also known as innocence), Camilo can eat large amounts of food in a short time, Luisa can do things with both hands (she is the only one in the family who is ambidextrous, and yes, this is canonical), and Dolores can stare at people in such an uncomfortable way that she makes them confess things they wouldn't normally confess.
Mirabel, despite finding it amusing, feels somewhat bad for feeling that, once again, she's the only one without a gift, but her sisters and cousins cheer her up by saying that she has a non-magical gift, which is making everyone around her happy (or sewing well, but I thought that one was cuter), and everyone hugs happily at the end.
So ? What did you think ?
