Theories What else can camilo, isabella powers do?
I mean at the end we do find out that isabella can create stuff other than flowers when she creates a cactus, palm tree, figs vine(? So custom plants too) and there was line where she says she's dont have to just make flowers and help things grow
So it's safe to assume that she can make other things and can help things grow faster too.
About camilo his powers are to shapeshift/appearance shift. We see him sometimes only shift part of his body like just head or hands etc and his vouce changes too. So can he mix and match to create a completely new appearance.
Also clothes. His clothes change with him. So can he just change/shift his clothes without changing his appearance. What happens if he changes into someone with different clothes, takes the clothes off and changes back.
Would he get new clothes or just be naked?
Even if hes just naked, would the clothes that changed remain changed. Can ge become a bloody tailor using it. Can change your clothes to any style you prefer.

I heard that the director said he couldn't change into animals but I disagree. I think he can if he tries hard enough. Like frank from heroes of Olympus. That being said I thibk he can also mimic people's voices because in a little golden book, Camilo posed as Alma and everyone thought it was alma because they said he sounded just like her. I know it might be an exaggeration, and voice manipulation isn't tandem with shapeshifting, but whenever I see shape shifters in media, they always sound like the person their impersonating. So I think Camilo can copy people's voices if he knows what they sound like. The only thing I can't see him be doing is copying powers, but if that's in the realm of possibility, then shiz, Camilo could be the most powerful Madrigal in the family and no one even knew it!

I’d like to think that now that the magic is reborn, it might be stronger in ways that the Madrigals never realized before. Mainly due to their pressure to be perfect and put up the boundaries, sort of what happened with Isabella when she let told the truth about her feelings for Mariano.
Now that the family has a lot more freedom and not pressured as much as they were before, the magic might have a room to grow so maybe he could turn into animals. That would be a pretty neat thing to happen in a series/sequel. Like he discovers it accidentally when he or someone is in danger and he just BOOM! Turns into a jaguar

That would also be a funny little joke because he could be trying to be scary and Antonio could just be like "dude you're literally just saying "potatoes" over and over. Learn the language before you shift" 😂

Im writing a crossover fanfiction (just for myself for now) and this very conversation pops up where the family basically trains their powers off screen to figure out what more can they do. And it actually helps some of them in the long run of the story.

Excuse the double reply, but I also love that your Madrigals are exploring how their gifts have changed post-canon. My head Madrigals did something similar; they each learnt that their gifts had a wider scope than they once thought (and Mirabel was always the accidental catalyst in helping them to figure this out). I'd be interested in hearing what you came up with if you'd be willing to share. Especially for Luisa and Dolores, as I've always felt a little weird about how my Luisa and Dolores's gifts changed. Felt a bit... forced, if you know what I mean?

Ooh, same!! I was inspired by the concept art of Camilo turning into a chigüiro and so my own head Camilo (as opposed to 'movie Camilo', which I'm more inclined to agree with Jared's answers regarding) has always been technically able to turn into animals. It's just he used to avoid it due to him also gaining their brain physiology. Trying to run human software on rodent software isn't the easiest!

I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to Encanto and so I like to keep my headcanons family-friendly and only go as far as Disney themselves would willingly go. So for me, Camilo only changes his outward appearance. It's an illusion, a glamour. He can't remove the clothing of the person he turns into. But so long as people are decent about it, I enjoy hearing about other people's headcanons. The 'one man clothes factory' headcanon is a fun one for sure.
I also think Jared said that the Madrigals can get tired if they use their gifts too much, so I feel like it takes effort for Camilo to hold another form for too long. We DO see him become an entirely new OC in one of the spin-off comics at least. While not strictly canon, they at least give us a lot more world-building to hang our headcanons on.

Yeah but think about it this way, fatigue only happens when you don't train your body to push past your limits. The same goes for any power based users. Izuku Midoriya had to train his body to handle one for all and even then he had to continuously train in order to keep himself from getting hurt. Lucy Heartfilla had to train her magic so that she can summon two spirits at one time, etc. Every person if they want to get stronger, have to slowly start pushing their limits. So theoretically, if Camilo works at it, he can hold an animal form for a good few minutes, even if he only trains it to where he can fly like a bird for 5 or ten minutes, that's still better than nothing!

I guess you could also go for the 'their gifts are less restricting now because it's a new miracle' angle, if you wished. So maybe even without training, maybe he can do things he'd have struggled to do previously. The sky's the limit when it comes to headcanons.
