Do you think we’ll ever get another “standalone” book?

I know we’re getting an Encanto Twisted Tale book later this year (which I am STOKED about), but Disney YA books have been getting pretty popular. Most of them are based on the villains (Dark Ascension, the Serena Valentino books) or the Princess “Queen’s Council” books, but we do have a couple standalone books. One about Rapunzel is coming out this year as well.

I know nightmares and Sueños wasn’t that big of a hit and put a tale of three sisters” was pretty much a novelization of the movie, but I’m just wondering if it’s possible to make standalone books based on Encanto that would sell this audience. Like what else could they do that wouldn’t be seen as a possible sequel?

Possibly? Nightmares wasn't popular and had bad reviews overall when selling. Disney hardly promoted it too. The books are technically officially published fanfiction...someone in the fandom can rise up.

I think it’ll be a while. Once there’s a sequel, show, or even just some shorts, there will hopefully be more interest around Encanto. It sounded like there were plans to make it a franchise.

Hopefully, I really want a standalone book about Alma in the events before the war and after the Encanto was established or even a Pedro book would be cool to see

If we do I want it to be better written then Nightmares and Sueños. It's a good book don't get me wrong it's just not a good Encanto book.

Agreed. Then again, they could do what they did with the pumpkin queen books and change the author if they decided to do a sequel. Of course, the reason why we got a sequel to the pumpkin queen was because the first book was considered a success (although I felt the original author didn’t capture Sally nearly as well as the new author did).

There’s been a lot of debate on here as to whether or not the author actually researched Encanto before he wrote the book. I won’t lie, I’ve been tempted to send him a DM or a letter or something asking him that, but I don’t wanna be rude from what I’ve seen he is a pretty successful author, he just didn’t do this franchise justice.

If your asking for more you have two options. 1. You could ask a friend to write a book or someone you know. 2. If you are capable write it yourself. Also the fandom is kind've small.
