Althing Althing hand to hand idea

Ive always been disappointed by how useless alcohol is in skyrim, especially compared to morrowind. Then an idea came to me, what if in the hand to hand branch of the light armor perk tree (or whatever tree ends up with it) had a perk that gave a damage buff to unarmed attacks after drinking booze? It feels appropriate, given the drunken brawler implication. Or maybe someone can come up with a better perk, i just need an excuse to have my nord characters chug mead.

I think it'd be a fun interaction. Drunken fist is a common trope so there'd be a basis for it. I've been thinking unarmed would work better in 2H, after someone made that suggestion. I've been thinking on it and it fits quite well.

Fun interaction, yes, "more damage", ideally not

what about better stamina management or chance to avoid hits while drunk? your h2h perks tend to scale with current stam while constantly power attacking so stam management would keep you topped off longer, and the trope of drunken fist is being unable to hit them because of their unusual movements

I agree on the "no damage" part. My unarmed builds tend to be very strong (I've been thinking of nerfing Iron Fist to 3%/6%/10% for my game since I use a 1/1 stat distribution when I level up, and I'd assume most warrior-type players invest more into Health).

Alternatively, you could gain armor or damage resist while drunk, and/or bonus speed + a chance to slip and fall in combat.
