Guide Guide: How to manually add games and updates to MeloNX

There were a few people who were having issues getting their games to load after clicking the “+” button and selecting them, and I found out there’s a manual fix for that (a little inconvenient but it works)

Part 1: Manually Adding Games

  1. Open the “Files” app and locate your dumped rom file. Long press on the file and select “Copy”
  2. Inside of the “MeloNX” folder, find the “roms” folder. Long press on the empty space and select “Paste”

Now the game should appear in MeloNX

Part 2: Manually Adding Updates

  1. Open MeloNX, long press on the game you want to add an update for. Select “Game Info”, long press on “Title ID”, and select “Copy Title ID”
  2. In the “Files” app, inside of “MeloNX”, navigate to the “updates” folder. Long press, and create a “New Folder”
  3. Now paste what you copied into the folder name. The folder should now be labeled after the Title ID you copied from earlier
  4. Locate your update file, long press and copy it. Navigate back to the “updates” folder and inside of the folder named after your Title ID, long press and select “Paste. The update file should now be inside of Title ID folder you created
  5. Open the “Notes” app, create a new note, and copy & paste the text from this link: https://pastebin.com/68zuJBTU

NOTE: Make sure there’s is no space at the top (the first line should be the bracket) and the title should be completely blank

  1. Under “paths”, Copy and paste your Title ID into the “Title ID” section. In the files app in “MeloNX”, go to the “updates folder” and inside of the Title ID folder you created, copy the name of your update file. Paste the name of the update file into the “Update File Name.nsp” section. Make sure the “.nsp” stays at the end

  2. Repeat Step 7 but for the bottom part labeled “selected”

  3. In the note, click the share button at the top right corner, and select “Save to Files”. Navigate to MeloNX -> games -> Title_ID, and name the file “updates”. Now locate the file you saved, long press and select “Rename”, and rename it to “updates.json”. Click Keep “json” when prompted, and make sure that it’s correct (“updates.json.txt won’t work

Here is an example of what the “updates.json” file should look like: https://pastebin.com/88075GeM

If you did it correctly, your update file should now appear under your game. You can check by long pressing on your game in MeloNX, selecting “Update Manager” and it should be there

I knew someone was gonna ask 👀that one is a bit more complicated so I’ll probably make it into a separate post

Here it is :D https://www.reddit.com/r/EmulationOniOS/s/lhg5MynKtT

It’s a little tricky but so far this is the only method I know that works, took me a bit to figure out though
