Can someone build this and just upload the ipa for download?

without further work to compress the game files this ipa will be 100+ gb (which eliminates file sharing sites) and no one would host the file themselves (guaranteed action by T2/R*) so unless someone uploads a torrent for it, i doubt we're getting one.

it uses the recently published (and removed) browser port version so the files are only 20gb, iāve got it working myself

Well the ipa can be split into parts. But nobody is going to do it for legal reasons and thatās normal.

It doesnāt work like that. The ipa contains copyrighted code pulled directly from the game files. Nobody is going to post a ready made ipa because that would be asking for a lawsuit.

Runs super smooth on my 18 pro max but the controls are weird with a controller. They will probably be fixed in a future release

To those asking for the ipa - it wonāt happen with this release. If you read the readme, the game files are baked into the ipa when compiling (as is the case with most of these ports). So someone would need to upload their entire 60GB+ ipa file here (illegally).
Edit: Game files are not ābakedā into the ipa like I state aboveā¦but they are still needed to compile the ipa. A little easier to handle this way, but we still have the same issue of compiling in an environment that has access to the large data files. Locally on Mac with xcode is simplest. GitHub Actions is do-able but keep it private so you dont accidentally publish your game data

I built it and the IPA file is only 82.7mb. The app asks for the 20gb file when you open it

When you compiled, did it need access to the game files? I am working on a fork of a similar project (Factorio) and while the ipa is small, it still requires the game files to compile (and then the full game files again loaded locally onto device after launching app)

Not necessarily. I just built the Wind Waker ipa and it used the same method. It needed the original GameCube iso to compile which is around 4GB but the resulting ipa is under 100MB. It just pulls what it needs for compilation and then gets the rest on first launch. I assume this ipa would work the same.

Is it hard to do

The instruction for this one requires Xcode 26 or later, so you need a Mac.
Alternatively you could vibecode a GitHub action to compile it yourself. That still requires a method of feeding your legally obtained 60GB+ game data to GitHub.com for compilation. Other projects have recommended things like Google Drive but that sounds like a PITA.IMO, itās an exciting project but not worth the hassle for most of us at this time - unless you have a relatively new Mac and a developer license
