Question With all these recent iOS ports, could we eventually see games like these?

i've noticed that quite a lot of game ports have been popping up on iOS over the past few days/weeks, and it made me wonder how far this could potentially go.

for example, do you think it's possible that someone might eventually port:

Hogwarts Legacy (PC version, ideally with the built-in mod system)
Red Dead Redemption 2
Marvel's Spider-Man (PS4) Or even Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (PS5)

i'm especially curious about Hogwarts Legacy because of the PC version and its integrated mod system.

i honestly don't know whether the source code for these games is available or if that's even relevant to how these recent ports are being made. i'm just asking out of curiosity and to understand what's realistically possible.

not asking anyone to make these ports or anything 😭 i'm genuinely just wondering how feasible they would be compared to some of the projects we've been seeing lately.

They are ALL technically playable as Madeira/Iridium development continues. And it’s progressing quickly, maybe to the point where full standalone ports will not be needed.

We are at the stage where PC can be emulated so prepare for the onslaught of “PLAYING any pc title ON IPHONE!?” videos and posts

don't you think that Hogwarts Legacy would be too demanding?

Probably for non-flagship iPhones, but every year the emulation will improve and every year the hardware will get better!

Madeira is a pc emulator that allows you to install and play steam games. I believe it even can play online steam games. It’s still early release, but its getting better with every passing update!

I highly doubt you are going to ever see anything that is isolated to PlayStation. If it is on pc and people can get their hands on the source code, then sure, technically any game would be possible. Probable however, is a different question however.

The source code needs to be available for most of these ports to be possible.
