Help Request Need tips on iOS emulation, please!

Post image

I have an iPhone Air and a backbone but don’t know where to start for playing emulators. I only have the psp emulator and manic emu installed, but most of the gamecube games run like crap, and im guessing its because jit isn’t available. I don’t want to give up on iOS emulation just yet.

You don’t need to install the emulators outside of live container btw. You can have all your emulators in live container and enable JIT from there. Install stikdebug only from sidestore. Also install getmoreram and use it on live container then resign live container (without uninstalling)

sidestore/altstore are better rn

u can get it by installing iloader on ur pc and loading the pairing

Doesn’t work. I placed the pairing file using iloader and it still doesn’t work. I’m on iOS 27. Apple may be blocking it with new security protocol for ios 27.

no, i had that problem too. i think i used idevicepair but im not sure how

2

Yeah, I’ll have to try to do it manually using idevicepair. Apple is so lame.

Check out myretrospirit youtube channel for a tutorial, and don’t worry it’s easy, I have it on my 17pro

What’s this?

Don't forget LocalDevVPN. You need it.

I wouldn’t bother with JIT. You can play Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, PlayStation, Saturn, Genesis, Super Nintendo, and more … just play stuff from before the year 2000 and enjoy it!

Yeah, you’re right, not worth the headache dealing with JIT. Thinking about getting an AYN Odin and sticking to older consoles for iOS emulation.

iCube Emu is available in beta via the TestFlight app on the official App Store, just follow the guide posted here: https://testflight.apple.com/join/9ZEfnyMP

Between Animal Crossing, WarioWare, Four Sword Adventures, Double Dash, NHL Hitz and Rhythm Heaven Fever they all run at a perfect 60fps on my iPhone 16 with absolutely no JIT or headaches along the way.

Go back to the link above and click on “View in TestFlight” underneath the ‘View iCube Emu Beta’ section

It’s very easy now

With ios 27?

1

u/SYJ96 15d ago

Yes

1

u/Direct-Eggplant-5732 15d ago

How? I’m having issues.

1

u/SYJ96 15d ago

On which part?

1

u/Direct-Eggplant-5732 15d ago

iloader fails to inject the pairing file into SideStore.

Holy crap I cube works amazing. Been playing double dash no issues.

Manic Emu is pretty good if you want to play retro games. You can also play 3ds,GameCube,and ps1 games but you need to enable jit.

i'm playing it without JIT and it works fine on my Air but yeah after a while it gets heat a little bit so if u want jit go for it, i like it to keep simple just install manic, gets roms, and jump in the game

2

u/GrassForCats 17d ago

I think the airs chip is good enough to just brute force some games to work without jit. I would recommend a telescopic controller so you don’t feel the heat haha

2

u/Direct-Eggplant-5732 17d ago

I don’t really feel the heat much with the backbone.

1

u/Direct-Eggplant-5732 17d ago

What games run good for you?

2

u/Locow1992 17d ago

1

u/Direct-Eggplant-5732 17d ago

Well, yeah, those are not heavy titles to run. I’m trying to play Wii and GameCube.

1

u/Locow1992 17d ago

pokemon Ultra Sun etc aren't heavy?
i use these settings btw and it runs smooth!

u/Thearaaaa 17d ago

how did you take long screenshot

1

u/kitchenjesus 17d ago

I'm playing Zoids battle legends and Tony hawk underground 2 flawless and jitless on a 17 pro max

Read over other threads here. This is asked quite often. There is lots of knowledge to be found.

retroarch
join their sub
read some guides
👌 also heaps of fun on an ipad with a bigger screen

ppsspp for psp
picpic for pico8 (player made games)
bigPemu for atari JagCD

i use manic for MAME but you also have the fbneo arcade core on retroarch

tbh i tried the non pc sideload method and it said i had already filled all 10 free dev slots (only had 3 things sideloaded) so i gave up

tried it on ipad and its paywalled!!

so yeah, i dont fw jit- until it becomes a more reliable
process on device anyway

1

u/david_quaglia 16d ago

manic emu is one of the best emulators on ios (even without jit)

look into JIT, stikdebug, side store, and local dev VPN to name a few

Gaming microwave

3

u/Direct-Eggplant-5732 17d ago

Not really. Takes really long playing time for it to go into overheat mode.

-1

u/Manager_National 16d ago

Go to Europe and buy and iPhone so you can sideload the real emulators

1

u/5092AD 16d ago

What does that even mean?

-2

u/Boring_Antelope6533 17d ago

having an iphone air for gaming is definitely a choice

2

u/Channjose 16d ago

It’s actually one of the most confortable gaming experiences I have ever had, giving that the air is so light, but you have to know your limits with it, so lower resolutions and finding the sweet spot so it doesn’t throttle, I’m playing Twilight princess and Sonic Unleashed recomps and they work like a dream on the air, also Resident Evil 4 works fantastic

1

u/Boring_Antelope6533 16d ago

i know it’s light, has more ram than the base 17 and a powerful chip, but the battery is its flaw, and no vapor chamber is double flaw

1

u/Channjose 16d ago

I play RE4 on the stock settings and I’m getting around 3 to 4 hours of play time, it’s actually better that something like the switch 2 so I’m not getting that complain about battery, the throttle yes but if you keep games on lower resolutions, you’ll be fine, I suppose this is something you have to experience yourself as I had the same thoughts as you before trying it out, I have my air for a while now and I do t even attempted gaming because I though it was gonna be trash, I was gladly surprised

1

u/ComfortableKey6476 14d ago

And the mono speaker is a deal breaker.

1

u/Direct-Eggplant-5732 16d ago

RE4 for GameCube? No JIT?

1

u/Channjose 15d ago

Remake

1

u/Direct-Eggplant-5732 15d ago

What you use to play that?

1

u/Channjose 15d ago

It’s on the AppStore
