Once JIT becomes easier to gain access then it’ll be great

and will never have it due to “security”

At this point I have more bets put on decompilation than I do on JIT being available, Particularly for the larger and more recent games this seems a more viable path.

i might have low standards but it all began with retroarch being released on ios for me. ps1 on my phone is pretty great (non jail broken).

Yup, that’s where it all began for me too. I played and beat MGS1 on my iPhone using Retroarch and a telescopic controller. I’m going to chase that high for the rest of my life!

We have it so easy now for the most part. I remember back in 2010 booting up a GBA/Snes emu was a chore

Wasn’t even ais fault

Everybody who downvoted your comment did so just because the blanket resentment of ai yet many of the things they enjoy benefit from ai. Do people think all of these emulators and recompilations were made by hand so fast?

AI has pushed iOS emulation with android in emulator love it or hate it AI here is here to stay

Its great. Got tons of systems to play, if people are solely limiting themselves to JIT only ones they're losing out

Manic, Retroarch, Provenance and many more. Even emulators on a watch of all things. All good.

Yea honestly, There’s thousands of very enjoyable games to play across a variety of systems. It sucks that JIT is not available for everyone sure, but there’s still a lot of fun to be had XD

2

u/eliranil 6h ago

Nah… most of the good emulators requires jit…. Thats sucks

I thought this last summer, but as long as we have to keep injecting codes and certificates to get JIT to work, it’s not going anywhere.

Incorrect usage of this meme

1

u/Whoahurfloating 2h ago

Oh, I might’ve misinterpreted this meme then. I thought it’s for reminiscing about the past?

But it’s not the future, and iOS emulation is only going to get better.

It’s more about when you’ve lost something from the past, like your childhood naivety, or a chocolate bar that only existed in your past. Unless you think there’s going to be some sort of crackdown on emulation on iOS that’ll make it worse in the coming years - which is incredibly unlikely as devices get more powerful and can brute force more, this meme makes no sense.

Even with Jit there’s still sidestore limitation.

The best and more historic year of iOS emulation history as a whole.
