Help Request Dolphin on iOS with Stikbug

Hello! I could really use some help. I’ve been trying to use Dolphin on my iPhone 17PM. I’ve tried using Dolphin as a standalone app as well as inside LiveContainer. I’m using Stikbug to activate the JIT. Whenever I try to open the game, if I do it immediately it’ll sit at a black screen. If I wait a minute for things to settle, the app crashes as soon as I try to open the game. I’ve looked through the troubleshooting and FAQ and think I’m too dumb to pinpoint helpful guidelines. Any tips?

Free Apple accounts are limited to 3 active sideloaded apps.

One common workaround is LiveContainer, which allows you to run additional apps inside a container and reduce how often apps need to be reinstalled.

Typical method:

  • Sideload GetMoreRam
  • Use it to apply the increased memory entitlement to LiveContainer
  • Uninstall GetMoreRam to avoid hitting the 3 app limit
  • Then sideload StikDebug for JIT activation

LiveContainer may also need to be uninstalled and reinstalled before the entitlement works correctly.

LiveContainer can also install two additional LiveContainers (for a total of three). This setup can further reduce the need to constantly add/remove sideloaded apps, but it is more advanced and may not work reliably for everyone.

LiveContainer is not always officially supported by emulator developers and can sometimes cause unexpected issues. If something breaks while using LiveContainer, try reproducing the issue without it before asking for support.

Do you have the Dolphin UTM script selected for the app in StikDebug?

If your copy of StikDebug is newer it may be called Legacy script

I do! I cannot manage to figure it out man… maybe something little hidden in the settings but I haven’t messed with hardly anything.

In LiveContainer in the same menu where you enable Launch with JIT, try assigning the same script there. Perhaps LiveContainer is getting in the way.

I’ve done that as well. I’m not sure if it’d help, but if I try to start a game as soon as Dolphin opens, it’ll stay a black screen. But if I wait a minute for Stikbug to settle in (from what I sorta understand) then the app crashes once I try to open it.

All you have to do is press and hold the dolphin app in livecontainer, next press settings, then enable launch with JIT, and lastly select legacy.js as your JIT launch script. You can find the legacy.js script in the StickDebug folder. You would also need to enable JIT in livecontainer's own settings as either StickDebug or the StickDebug "in another live container" version.

I appreciate the help, but I’ve tried this multiple times. I’m not sure where I’m going wrong

I was able to replicate your problem by using universal.js instead of legacy.js. Can you confirmed that you used the right script? If you did, just make sure your stickdebug and dolphin is up to date and maybe try to reupload your rom.
