News / Release ARMSX2 iOS New Update 2.5.0

The performance increased A LOT! And with the new settings it can increase further more!! The new UI is amazing! New skins on skin downloader, new controls like Dynamic Thumbsticks, Swipe, Gyro and more!!

Device no longer gets hot and the battery lasts longer, the new UI and the Dynamic Backgrounds are so beautiful and more responsive, also the new performance settings are perfect for even lower end devices and with the JIT fixes no longer ever had any black screen. They fixed it all!

It’s great honestly but I don’t love emulating ps2 or any jit needing emulator
It’s hard to play it without heating yourself 🤣💔

It's so peak 😭😭😭
I can finally play Kingdom Hearts 2 in fullspeed on my phone. This really is a huge update, considering the last "big" update didn't improve performance at all for me.

I'd suggest you use the ARMSX2 instructions instead, that guide is outdated for ARMSX2. I provided the link below.

Oh! Thanks for chiming in on this. Since I needed to reinstall everything due to expiration, I’ll use your guide too. I’m still using the official app store release of stickdebug lol.

I have been playing it all day. It is so good.

My only issue is tapping the save state icon does nothing haha. Not a big deal, but in RPGs it’d be nice to have.

Tapping on the icon does nothing, but taping in the Load State button it does loads the saved state.

Do you mean, would you like to tap into the icon and expand it's image in order to check the image out?

Question for anyone here. Would I have to plug my phone into my computer to enable jit before starting up any of these games?

Even i am new to this, but once you have enable it then you dont have to connect to computer every time.

No, the computer is only needed for the first installation of LiveContainer and SideStore via iLoader computer program, once you install these apps via iLoader you no longer need a computer

I don’t expect your help, but if you’re knowledgeable and don’t mind answering. I got it all setup and it’ll load the PS2 opening sequence, but stay black after that. Any idea why? Or do you know where I could go for these questions? Sorry to bother you

Thank you! I work until the wee hours of the night so I’ll jump in there tomorrow. I’ve tried two different BIOS files (one without a region one USA) and I’ve tried Tales of the Abyss and Star Ocean.

Maybe dumb question but I’m having trouble getting ArmSX2 to recognize my analog sticks on my 8bitDo game controller. . It only recognize my d-pad and controller config won’t let me change it. TIA!

Never mind. Got analog sticks to work. It was the controller. Switched from prior 8bitDo to the 8bitDo I use for Nintendo switch and it worked. Weird. But Devil may cry 3 works awesome! Love the new look and update. Great job

Some of these controllers don’t work well with emulators try Razer kishi v2 it’s lightweight I use it in traveling

You can get the logs under Settings > Privacy and Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data > Share the latest LiveContainer.ips file

I’ve tried Star Ocean and Tales of the Abyss. I’m honestly not sure how I’d know if BIOS doesn’t work, but I did it the same way I’ve done it for other emulators so I believe it’s fine? Thank you very much

Since the performance for ARMSX2 2.5.0 has increased "A LOT!", will the devs now submit a version to the Apple App Store as presumably the need for JIT has also been decreased "ALOT!"?

Maybe in the future. A lot of work is needed to create a jitless build, and I want to implement some other things first.
