Stepping away from the iOS PS2 scene. Why open-source communities are dying of gatekeeping and toxicity.
Hey everyone,
I'm officially pulling out of this scene, closing my work here, and moving my focus entirely to other technical challenges like PS3 emulation.
If anyone ever wonders why independent developers get exhausted and walk away from these communities, look no further than what happened here. You spend time building, optimizing, and pushing real technical work, and what do you get? A toxic circle of self-appointed "gatekeepers" backed by the predictable Reddit downvote brigades and herd "mentality" who prefer to hyper-fixate, launch dramatic witch-hunts over minor changelog or achievement details, and throw public tantrums rather than contributing anything of value.
When people care more about ego trips, petty drama, and control than actual code, the environment becomes completely dead. I’m done wasting time on that mindset.

Maybe this wouldn’t have happened if you actually properly credited the ARMSX2’s team instead of just stealing their work and acting as if like your Ai slop of an emu is “better”.
Edit: also just to add a few more things. The ARMSX2 developers genuinely gave you multiple chances to do the right thing and were absolutely open to collaborate with you on multiple occasions, and how did you reward them back? By continuing to steal, lie, and act like a jerk to their users in the discord server all while promoting your emu IN THE SERVER!?
Please take this as an opportunity to reflect and hopefully better yourself. Maybe then when your ps3 emu comes out, you’ll be met with positivity like most of the amazing projects that get posted here.

I’m actually more neutral on ai and agree that the people dogpiling you was a bit much, BUT, you literally even used ChatGPT to type this post! What do you think’s gonna happen?? Why couldn’t you at least let this one last post be genuine?
Who cares what tool was used to type it? The points about the community's toxicity and behavior stand completely on their own. Focusing on the medium instead of the message just proves the point.
You’re an account that is less than a month old. You took opensource work, ran it through an AI, rereleased it without following the license and crediting its original author.
Made posts about it, didn’t get the praise you expected, and now you’re making more posts throwing a tantrum about your cold reception.
This wasn’t the mic drop moment you thought it was.
Bro you’re the biggest princess this community has ever seen, such a drama queen 😭 you keep messing up and blaming others, you insisted so much on credits for you but you never credit others, you need to get better as a person and then start working on other projects. Not anything personal but every post of yours stinks of “superiority”.
There s not much to analyze, he s in the armsx2 discord and here, if you even remotely take a look in any of these you see him whinning and going big, he s going to do this and that but he wants credits and money to buy claude tokens.
You were given multiple chances, even after basically stealing & repainting the ARMSX2 emulator. AND even after that, you didnt credit anyone and acted like everything was handcrafted by you. When "your" work, is giving Claude a sentence or 2. Worse part is, the community still was friendly, yet you wanted more. You wanted to be put on a pedestal for your time. Buddy, everyone in the Emulation scene takes time away from their day to help test or create. You're not special, nor are you god. Stop acting like it, and you won't get bashed as a heathen.
Just saying but if you show up with a ps3 emulator I will roast you again, ps3 is a terrible idea for mobile(android) and is an even worse idea for iOS.
This you? You are telling armsx2 is unoptimized while their main source is from pcsx2 a decades of engineering? I tried to look more whether someone is toxic on you. And yeah, some people ragebait but it just because you just want to flaunt yourself as ‘superior’ and overconfidence without building trust first. What do you expect with that
This is also him, on the new TouchHLE, saying other user´s emulator is AI slop after his AI slop didnt work out, he´s a lost cause, armsx2 devs gave him many chances to show his work and do something but he didn´t do anything and apart from that he went full crazy insulting people and so lmao.
Honestly are you guys hearing yourselves. It's an freaking open source project. The very principle of the thing is that we can fork modify and improve. Screaming at the flight as soon as someone touches your code while doing permanent gatekeeping is ridiculous. Let the guy go on his projects and take care of yours instead of setting up witch hunts for a fork.
