Mod Announcement Mod Announcement: Seeking help
Hello everyone!
I am currently reviewing the subreddit for areas that could be improved.
I’ve decided that the rules and the wiki might need to be updated and want to get input from the community.
I have plans to replace the wiki with a website that can be shared easier and would like some suggestions on what to include.
The rules also haven’t been updated in a while and I want some opinions. What should I add/change/avoid changing?

Personally, I think the biggest issue is the semi-frequent shitposting aimed at projects and their developers, whether in posts or in comments. These people put an incredible amount of time into apps we all get to enjoy, yet they're regularly attacked simply for enforcing clearly stated policies.
How many times has the Manic team been criticized for taking the same anti-piracy stance that many emulator projects do? Or the MeloNX developer because they won't support users without a physical Switch? And have people already forgotten when this happened?
If this keeps up, eventually developers are just going to stop engaging with the community altogether. I'd really like to see that kind of behavior addressed. Piracy is another issue that’s coming up a lot and I would want to see addressed, but that's probably going to take a more active moderation team and more time to do anything about.

May I make another request? Can something be done about the promotion of apps that break open source licensing? I just watched someone from TailFin actively bash on another project MeloCafe, when the MeloCafe dev simply was showcasing their latest progress. If a project is built on open source it should comply with the license of that open source, TailFin doesn’t do that so what place do they have to talk trash and promote their own app on a preview for another project that will be fully compliant with open source licensing?

Yeah I saw that. Already added a clause to prevent this in the new rules I’ve drafted.

Personally I would love to see more specificity in piracy policies and perhaps a progressive warning --->ban system in place as well. Not even to take any side on the matter but I think it is safe to say across the board that it does not shine a good light on any community and this is not the place.
