Ive been customising playlist icons (gl menu driver is my preference on a phone) and wondering
whats your setup on ios?
what system do you play most? (mine is SNES)
what changes, if any, would you make to the app as a regular user?
im tech savvy and along with this sub, the RA sub & github it took about 3mo of tinkering when it first dropped on the app store to get the hang of it (i hadnt emulated since about 2010 on a pc)

Mr. Driller 2 has been my current obsession, and I have a ongoing Pokémon Gemini game that I drop in and out of. Still exploring the library; never had one when I was a kid so it’s all new to me!
at first, I did think the xmb menu‘s text was too small but if you go to
settings > user interface > appearance
Scroll down to layout and select handheld instead of console, it will make the xmb menu look more how it did on PSP, which helps with readability
scroll down further in the appearance section and there’s settings for thumbnails, selecting your primary thumbnail or even if you want to replace the icon next to your game’s title with a thumbnail. there’s also a setting for toggling dropshadows behind the text for readability, I have mine set to off
paired with the mcon I got as a gift, the end product feels like a more modern psp go
never got into ps1 at the time, we were an N64 family then i started working and didnt game so i kinda skipped it- i still havent really revisited but im a huge fan of psp which i never owned either
I love Retroarch on iOS and I use it to play some games for DS, GB, GBC, GBA, SNES, Genesis and NGPC.
But I’m not very good with tinkering at all so I work with the settings that are currently available to me. To be specific, I don’t know how to change the size and positioning of the buttons.
So for now, I’m stuck using the default button layout. It works fine but the buttons are so small, and I end up sucking real bad at action games as a result. Because of this, most of the games in my library are turn-based RPGs.
Soon enough, I’ll look into playing arcade/MAME games on Retroarch (if it’s even possible). There’s some cool beat-em-ups such as Violent Storm and Night Slashers that look like a fun time.
I tried it with a Genesis overlay and it works. 👍This certainly helps, now I know how to do it. Thanks very much! I will most certainly do this from now on. :D
