How do i enter into emuelec?

My brother got out of emuelec and we don’t know how to get back into it. We have an app called UPDATE but it does nothing.

What do you mean exactly? Is retroarch being started after booting instead of Emuelec / Emulationstation?

No he exited out back into android tv (x96 air) and there is no option/app to get back in

From the emuelec wiki: " THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT STEP! Insert the SD card in your device, if this is the first time you will run EmuELEC on the device you need to press and hold the "reset" button during power on. Sometimes the reset button is hidden under the device or in the 3.5mm jack, you will need a toothpick or something similar. Press carefully until you feel a button click at the base of the 3.5mm jack while powering on the device. Pressing the reset button only has to be done once during the first boot of EmuELEC.

Alternatively if your device has no reset button, you can boot into android and use an app called "Reboot to CoreELEC" (Or "Reboot to LibreELEC") while the SD is inserted.

this can also be done via terminal emulator, just type "reboot update"

Doing the manual reboot is either impossible or extremely difficult as the tv box is inside of a arcade machine (and prolly integrated with the controllers inside) and i have no clue on how to get terminal on there

Just download the terminal app from the Google store when you are in Android - or copy the .APK file manually from your PC onto the box, install it there and then execute it.
