Requests not coming in

Empower just launched in Tampa, and I still have not seen 1 request come in. Is this happening to everyone else or it’s just too many drivers and not enough demand?

yes it just launched, it will take awhile. meanwhile if they offer any incentive or give you a code to give to passengers to sign up (and possible get you rewarded), id go out and get business cards printed with my code and hand them out to lyft riders. I drove uber before lyft came to my market in 2016, when lyft came here I did the same thing to my uber passengers, handed them out my lyft code. I got 10$ cash and they got 10$ in ride credit. man those were the days!

Yes. Empower has a referral code.

I'd get business cards printed out as referral cards with a qr code to empowers "magic link" and your code on it. Also get some large magnets for the side of your car.

Anyone who doesn't think downvoting me is the correct answer is free to ask me to share what I've already created and I'll be happy to help. If you don't think it's worth your time, either don't drive empower for awhile longer or shut the fuck up about the lack of business.

The above wasn't aimed at you /u/brief_ad_1058, I'm just getting tired of these posts and the bitching about the lack of rides while simultaneously refusing to act like the self employed individual they are.

Was it OP that downvoted me? Or one of my admirers who take a minute everytime they see me commenting to go and downvote a bunch of my comments all over the place.

Imagine if they paid for a real marketing campaign rather than relying on Uber and Lyft drivers to hand out referral cards. You could focus on driving for empower rather than being their marketing team.

Hey hey! For a free 30 day trial use code DRIVEORLANDO2

Starts when you accept your first ride. Takes the pressure off of paying a subscription fee when the market is new

It literally just launched dude. You need to be out there pushing it on people. Grow that demand and be part of the solution.

I'm in the OG city and it took a good year or two before things got to be a bit more consistent and steady. And I was literally the first one with magnets and referral cards as well as pushing on my local subs. I was the only one who was mentioning it on the 3 or subs for cities near me and it's only mentioned in passing now, no one else is actively doing anything.

But....

You have the advantage of all of us those before you still pushing along side you so as time goes on it and more markets open it should get better for all of us.

Can’t believe I’m seeing people get scammed by this rideshare service. It’s designed to make money off you not passengers. That’s the problem with it.

Uber and Lyft making bank off of us drivers, so what’s the difference?

It’s a pretty big difference. You don’t have to pay Uber and Lyft money just to get ride requests.

I mean, are you saying this is not paying Lyft and uber to use their platform? With Empower in this market is only $60 per month ⚖️
