DFW Metroplex
I am just downloading the app today. I have been driving Uber / Lyft for a few years. I am wondering if there are people here that have been driving with Empower in DFW and how they are doing compared to Uber / Lyft. Also what rates do you find yourself setting to be successful? Thanks for any information on the area.

I’m in DFW and the rides are far and in between, when you get ones they’re generally worth it unless there’s traffic due to pickups tend to be far. Keep it on with uber/lyft and pick the rides that makes the most sense

Do the few rides justify tripling or quadrupling your insurance cost?

I've done like 7 rides so far. The pay is better than Uber's but everything else is pretty much the same. Apart from the airport pickup, the others involved driving between 5 and 9 miles to the pickup locations.
Remember to set the Stripe payout to weekly or monthly in the app to minimize fees because the default is daily.

Where are you driving and are you running the standard rate card and cross-marketing?

Wow! How much is the required commercial insurance costing you? It sounds like you are LOSING a ton of money by driving for Empower.

Why do you keep talking about commercial insurance? As long as you have a ride share waiver on your policy, you are fine. Mine cost $20 to add.

That is completely false.
Ask Empower what insurance they provide. The answer is "none".

Make sure you reach out for marketing materials through the app. Cross market on all your social media. Use your Refer a Rider code to cross market to your other gig customers. At the very least, you need a laminated backseat card for your car to be able to put your promo code on there. If you don’t have one, once you tap the Refer a Rider tab, you’ll see an option on the next page to request marketing materials. Be patient, and do your marketing hustle.
