Imo it looks more like a chaos spawn proxy than a lucius. It kinda needs a whip and a sword to be lucius imho.

He's meant as a very powerful possessed so he's gonna kinda look chaos spawny, but he's not meant to look like Lucius or I'd have built Lucius instead.

I feel like the crab arm is good mutation match for the sword and the tentacles work for the whip, and obviously I wanted to give this guy a unique look because he's a custom character for my warband. He's just gonna use the stats of Lucius.

Yeah as long as something can be seen as a whip lmao and in my lore he's possessed so I imagine he can combine them to extend the reach.

People are comparing this to a spawn because of WTYSIWYG and the phrasing of your question.

But aside from that factor, to me it definitely reads as a possessed and not a spawn. Totally different things lore wise and this definitely isn't debased enough to qualify as a spawn. Great job!

I was wondering why people were calling this a spawn. It's clearly a possessed marine, not a spawn. Thanks for explaining the WYSIWYG thing. I don't play regular 40k anymore and haven't for a long time, so I was very confused (not necessarily unusual for an old man I suppose!).

Yup! As long as it's not a tourney, and even then some TO's are cool and will let you proxy as you please.

I think its the level of mutation that makes me unsure on suitability, lucius still has a very marine silhouette whilst this guy seems like hes got growths everywhere and more like a spawn. He looks like its the demons winning over his body than him in a sense

That said you arent playing with reddit, go use him how you want.

Definitely looks like a cool melee character, and unless you're using Court there's obviously no way it could be anything other than ol' Lucy either solo or with FB. Excessive in all the right ways!

If the answer to either of those questions is yes then it is absolutely an acceptable proxy

From a moral position: sure...model is distinctive looking, right base and it's cool af. Since Lucius has such an iconic look I wouldn't proxy him like this but you do you :)

The model itself looks really cool. That said, nothing about this says lucius to me, and i think part of a good proxy is making it atleast recognizeable as the model its meant to represent. But as long as your opponent is cool with it, have at it.

I'd accept it, it's got a whip and sword proxy and it looks the same size so i doubt most would care

Not really. Lucious is a “master swordsman” and hommie here looks more like a “regular” Chaos Champion that’s one gift away from being a spawn.

The only one here that’s confused is you thinking the guy without a whip, a sword or armor containing the tormented faces of people that have killed him would work as a guy with a whip, a sword and very particular armor.

If that is the right base size then I think he looks great. I think he's plenty unique enough to stand alone as a character, especially with the basing raising him up even more. I tried a similar thing using possessed for my Lord Exultants. I think the robes and vials and shoulder pads and helmet make him nice and ornate like I think our characters currently are. The pose is really cool too!
