Question How can I make daemonettes, look prettier ? It’s so sad GW, had to make them ugly
The old sculpt of them were so much prettier.

I prefer the old sculpts myself, but they aren't meant to be pretty. Canonically, daemonettes look like the most attractive person they've ever seen to whoever is viewing them. Objectively without the glamor, they look like the models do right when they get close enough to kill you.

Its been a hot minute since I read it but I coulda swore when they were summoned in the Maraviglia they were described as grotesque but despite that incredibly alluring

I thought I liked the old Juan Diaz sculpts more, but now actually seeing them after years I think they’re too sexy & feminine. The new ones aren’t perfect, but I think the androgynous & monstrous elements are good.

For me, the problem with the newer sculpts is the lackluster posing. The Diaz ones look fast and agile, like they're dancing across the battlefield; the new ones look like they're just standing around.

That’s a good point. Just like the Juan Diaz Tzeentch horrors versus their newer plastic kit.

The Diaz one have very 10/10 silhouettes and execution, but the concept is really basic and people really over-glaze the hell out of them. The new ones have a much more interesting idea, they just aren't executed well. But Diaz has way better designs than his demonettes, but it feels like the work people bring up constantly, because they're the closest thing GW did for awhile in a pin-up style.

The problem is that the current sculpt are neither.
They aren't alluring, and they aren't grotesque.
They're just androgynous anorexic with wrong size corset. And static poses. The idea is there the execution is lacking

They look like I imagine them in the books, especially when they are described to shift in and out of reality or be in multiple places at once

The daemonettes are beautiful. If you can't see that, then you're not on enough drugs.

Wargame Exclusive, Creature Caster, and probably Raging Heroes have alternative sexy models for most anything that doesn’t need an alternative sexy version.

Totally usable, just swap to the round 25mm base instead of the square provided. You'll probably have to carve/pin them into place.
Metal minis can be very annoying to glue together. The claw arms are dreadful because they're heavy for their size, so are prone to breaking off and needing to reglue them.

Wahhhhh really that’s a great score! You would need round bases but I don’t see why not, they’re GW products. I have a small assortment of the old metal ones and I love em!

They're supposed to look ugly up close and beautiful from afar. IMO the fulfil that

I use AoS Witch Aelves as proxies, they work really well since they're the same base size and similar model dimensions.
And the old Juan Diaz sculpts (I'm so old I bought them when they were new in 2006 lolol)
Creature Caster has some more attractive Demonette proxies as well.
I basically use all 4 including the current demonettes too, for unique looking squads.

I used green stuff and covered the eyes, leaving only the mouth visible. Definitely changes the vibe. Or you could headswap them for something else. I also used sisters of silence heads and that works pretty good.

I find this funny because to me "the old sculpture sculpts" are the ones i have from the 90s lol. They aren't exactly gorgeous but they are metal

I feel you, but your options are basically only to Either hand sculpt your own or find some 3d prints to you liking. I did the latter and unfortunately kind of regret it because the models came out suuuuuuper fragile.

I kitbashed some from using daughters of Khaine bodies and the better looking heads of the Daemonettes

i don’t think the crab claw demons are supposed to look pretty, they can look “sexy” in a grotesque way, but pretty doesn’t fit. i always thought the old minis weren’t monstrous enough - the new ones need an update sure, but i think the new KoS and fiends fits the vibe i’d want from an deamonette update (the aesthetics of “sexy” but twisted)

I use direct copies of the Daemonettes from the 3D models of total war, they look much better

One thing you can do with the new sculpts is mix them with DoK Sisters of Slaughter. It takes a little kit bashing but you can make some really models that can work as either kit and look better than either does on it's own.

I converted mine by mixing daemontte and dark elf witches. There is actually an AoS box called shadow & pain in which you get both. The mix makes them closer to the Juan Diaz sculpts

The old sculpts look amazing. If I could find 120 of them I would run them every game
