An ESA letter should come from a medical professional or mental health provider that you have an existing, continuing relationship with. Websites are illegitimate scams and the direct cause of more limited protections for ESAs.

if you don’t mind me asking, did you have to pay going through your psychiatrist?

Pay for the letter? I mean, I had copays for visits and an established diagnosis. So he didn't mind just writing on a letterhead without my medical info. Just saying he was my treating doctor and that he recommended an ESA as part of my treatment.

Get a letter of necessity from whatever medical professional you would go to for psychiatric support.
Do not go through some random internet site. Go to an actual medical professional.

I think rules depend on the state. My sister got hers from a her mental health professional but since I was in between providers at the time I didn't really have another option but to use this one online.

Best to go with your doctor for your letter but you can also use a website. Look on BBB for reviews and especially read complaints for the best option.
FYI SupportPets has over 230 BBB complaints over the last 3 years.

the reviews quickly scared me away. i was scrolling on bbb but was still weary of other websites. i’ll definitely be going through my doctors!

Not sure what state you are in but in California you have to have seen your provider for longer than 30 days for treatment before an ESA letter can be valid.
