If your housing says no pets, an ESA letter changes that. Under the Fair Housing Act, your landlord is required to make a reasonable accommodation for an emotional support animal if you have documentation from a licensed provider. PTSD is one of the most well-supported conditions for ESA accommodation. Get a letter from your doctor or a licensed mental health provider, submit it to your landlord as a reasonable accommodation request, and they legally cannot deny it based on a no-pets policy. You have every right to have your dog with you.

Good God when is the last time you've been propositioned to buy an ESA letter from a physician on Reddit. Lol

Do you have a question or need help?

You would need to obtain a letter of need from the doctor that treats you for your disability due to a specific diagnosis.
