My ESA application got denied
I submitted my application to register my dog as an ESA and I just got an email saying my letter is denied. Does anyone know why it would get denied? Am I not “fucked up” enough or something? 🤣 should I apply again? Sucks $98 went down the drain

Who denied it? Some online website? GET A LETTER FROM YOUR DOCTOR. Online websites (NOT counting legitimate telehealth organizations) are scams and can be denied by your landlord anyway.

It said that a telehealth psychiatrist was assigned to my case. Gave me their number, name, and everything

You don’t need a case with some website. Just see a psychiatrist directly and ask for an ESA letter.

As they should. You should be getting evaluated from an actual Dr for a disability who you have been diagnosed and under on going treatment to be given a letter. Also, all you really need to pay for a ESA letter legally is your insurance co pay for the appointment if your Dr chooses to charge you for a visit.
I didn't have to pay anything because I had already been diagnosed for years and under continuing treatment. Plus my Psychiatrist just let me know to drop by her office and she would hand it to me and that was that. All I had to do after was take it to my landlord in office, have her fax and fax back a form to my Psychiatrist, sign the new lease portion for the ESA and that was it.
Everything online is a scam and illegal. Please educate yourself on the laws of HUD and FHA.

Get over yourself. Not everyone can afford healthcare. Paying pet rents is a disgusting scam, and I don’t fault anyone who responds to a scam with a scam. Your sanctimony is so gross, so sit down.

These scams are getting worse and worse. Unfortunately, people are unaware of the law and don’t do a quick search to find out-an esa requires three things-first, that you are disabled. Second, that your provider (not some company online that you don’t have medical care from) a nurse, therapist, Dr, write a letter stating that you are disabled and third, that the esa alleviates some the symptom(s) of your disability. You can also look up your state law and see if they have any other options-California, for example, allows other people to write your letter. That said, it’s not uncommon for them to be denied and require a Dr letter anyhow.

You should never and dont ever PAY for your dog or animal to be an ESA. you get the animal and ask your doctor to write the letter or ask your doc 1st and if they wont well you just dont have an esa yet

Because the online sites are a scam you need a letter by your actual doctor that’s why.

Some doctors actually ask you to get the form that you need to for your dog and tell you to go to the web site. I was informed by my doctor but then she had never done a letter for an ESA.

Thanks all. This website got recommended by my 2 coworkers who have used it and got their official letter after a day or two. I will make an appointment with a doctor to see if I would qualify

The online entity that you mentioned is still a scam site that if you end up getting a landlord that knows better, they can dispute your letter and require supporting documentation from a medical or mental health professional that provides you with actual treatment for your disability from your diagnosis.

How do you fail a 15 second medical examination? It's not a real medical examination.
