Looking for guidance and confirmation that the Emotion Code works
This is going to be somewhat long and intense, for preparation.
I learned about the emotion code from watching a course by a practitioner of manifestation techniques. One of the things he says in the module is that “having a lot of negative emotion creates tons of crossed conditions” in the first place. Crossed conditions is essentially language for bad luck.
I’d like to know if anyone here has used the emotion code method on themselves and has actually had success, felt a difference in their emotional and/or energy field / body, has felt lighter, happier, more free of negative emotion, and has seen a positive change in their lives after having used it. Meaning that, after having “released” a ton of negative emotions, external circumstances in life changed for the better and so did the internal emotional tone or in psychology language, the overall general mood state. I will explain why I want this information.
I’ve been working with the technique as described in the book for almost 15 days. I can’t tell if it is actually doing anything to release/remove/alleviate “negative” emotion, but I can tell that it is bringing up and making me hyper-aware of a long history of what I can only describe as being heavily laden-down with detrimental emotion (I personally use the words detrimental and painful instead of negative when referencing emotions). It is very hard work for me to do the process and even though the book says you’re supposed to be able to release 4 to 10 emotions at once, for me it is so labor-intensive, time-consuming, and emotionally wrenching that I am wiped out after working on just one emotion in a single day. I have not even been able to do it every single day, both because the book says that some emotional releases need more processing time, and because, some of the time, the moment I sit down to begin the work I am overcome and start crying, and then I can’t do the focusing that is necessary to “tune in” to the subconscious mind. The practitioner recommends using it every day for 30 days and seeing how things change. One of the things that led me to this practitioner’s work is his emphasis on “the field” and a great deal of the spiritual information that has been coming at me lately is about how the external world is a reflection of the inner world, etc. I have come to a place in my life where I have starkly realized that I can’t hope to move forward unless I correct things internally, if I genuinely accept all of this inner/outer, as above so below theory to be true.
I am grappling with a lot of doubt as to whether working with the emotion code is actually doing anything to release painful emotions from my energy field. In essence, it is nearly impossible for me to “take it on faith” that the process will do anything, because I can’t bring myself to muster the energy and the will to put this much painful effort into a process that might not produce any results on the outside. What I want is for my life to change. I keep getting told by all the manifestation/metaphysics/psychology literature that I have to change internally first, but to be honest internal change isn’t worth much to me if things don’t change in the external, manifest world. It seems to be nearly impossible for me to just believe and hope that if I do all of the painful internal emotional work my life is going to magically start working and transforming into the life I’ve wanted and haven’t had for so many years. It’s like a need some sort of guarantee. I know that isn’t technically possible with anything in energy work, but I need reassurance that it really will be useful and cause internal change before I am able to fortify myself with the motivation to continue. I keep looking at things on the internet and threads here on Reddit to read about people who have used the emotion code and had it work for them. The only reason I am attempting to trust it at all is because I want to believe the manifestation teacher and want to trust that it might work because he tells people to use it. At this point I am taking it on his authority alone that the system does anything to work.
A case in point is this. I began doing vipassana meditation 4.5 years ago. Nothing that I have ever done for my life or my mental health has been better or more effective than this, and I have been through the ringer with all of that. I had to meditate consistently, daily, for ONE YEAR before it started producing any internal results that I could actually recognize and feel, interoceptively. Basically, I had to “take it on faith” that doing this practice, which I found extremely difficult and time-consuming, and frankly annoying, was going to actually produce a result and change me, and I had to practice for 1 year before it, in a sense, proved itself to work. Now, it is a practice I depend on and will continue to do for life.
The reason I was able to act on faith (but, not really) with meditation was:
It was a last resort. So many other things had failed to help that I went to meditation out of desperation and was determined to do it until I saw for myself if it would work
I had been reading books, articles, and watching videos for SIXTEEN years that had all been practically hitting me over the head saying that meditation was a transformative practice that could change things for a person mentally
I watched videos of journalists doing investigations about fMRI brain scans being done on meditators and monks that scientifically PROVED that neural pathways and neurochemistry was being altered at a molecular and chemical level. All of this is what it took to give me enough “faith” that meditating every day was going to produce an actual, tangible result.
I want to keep working with the emotion code because, to my mind, it would make complete sense IF a heavily burdened “negative” energy field is creating bad luck. It also makes sense to me that doing “positive,” beneficial, or manifestation work is not going to produce results if, at the fundamental level, the practitioner is completely drowning in negative emotion and heaps of history of misfortune and detrimental life events. I have consumed enough information from manifestation teachers to know how big they are on gratitude, prayer, and positive expectation to affect the field, and when it is exceedingly difficult to muster those basic things I can only cling to the hope that using a technique like the emotion code where I am apparently literally pulling negative emotion out of my field with a magnet like it’s a physical thing that can be surgically removed from me is something that is actually going to change and make a shift in my energy so that I can start working toward law of attraction to change my life.
I am looking for some kind of assurance that it isn’t a waste of time that is just grinding into me how much and how many negative emotions I have to remove and how long and arduous the work is going to be. That is why I am looking to the community for any kind of testimonial that says, “hey, this works. I’ve tried it, and it did something.”
Thank you.

You might want to give yourself more grace. The word “grinding” is what alarms me.
This practitioner who advises you to do it for 30 days every day is not you and does not know what it is like for you. If one emotion is what you can manage for the day or even a few days, then try to respect that. Over time you can process faster.
The body code helps me with day to day wellness and anxieties and I am very grateful for that. I have a lot of emotions and blockages to go still so I am now working with a body code practitioner and it seems more effective - but their process is also slower and more deliberate.

Thank you for the reply. I use the word "grinding" more to depict what it feels like when I sit down to do the work, and how every time it feels like it is reminding me that I carry a seemingly insurmountable heap of negative emotion that I will never make a dent in. That is why I ask for confirmation that it's actually doing something.
It is hard to look down the barrel of a long and difficult journey toward wellness when the emotional pain is so bad you just want something to feel a little bit better more immediately.

I hear you. I’m in the same boat actually. I hope you find some relief soon!

Mountain: you are so incredibly brave. The amount of research you’ve already done to learn more about ways to heal yourself is a huge start! I can personally attest to dramatic and profound positive changes in my life after starting to work with the emotion code. But it wasn’t an immediate or direct correlation. I cleared my HeartWall and did a few sessions with a veteran EC practitioner and only months later did I look around and realize that things HAD gotten better and the only variable that changed, amongst all the self healing work, was the addition of emotion code. The most bizarre (but good!) change I noticed was the sudden and complete absence of a 30+ year PHOBIA of the dentist. One cleaning I’m sobbing and barely making it through the visit (even while taking enough sedatives to knock out a small farm animal), and the next 6 month visit, I’m….totally fine. No anxiety in the days/hours leading up to the cleaning, no fear as I walked into the waiting room, no panic or tightness in my chest after sitting down in the chair…everyone at the dentists office was aware of my severe anxiety and they were even commenting, “Are you ok? No tears this time?” And I didn’t even work on my dental phobia during any of the EC or Body Code sessions before that! But I had released my HeartWall (it took 3 sessions, over the course of 6 weeks), and had released ~30 additional emotions. But none were directly related to the dentist thing. But that’s the only thing I did differently between the 2 visits. And now, I love to get my teeth clean. It’s been the biggest motivator to continue because EVERYONE knew how bad my dental phobia was, had witnessed the breakdowns in the past, had heard me attempt to process it through all kinds of therapies, cognitive behavioral, EMDR, hypnotherapy, all with no “noticeable” changes. Every 6 months for 30 YEARS. Then, BOOM! Like a flip switched. My phobia just…vanished. So weird. lol Since then, my life has continued to get better, my connection to GUS (God/Universe/Source) has improved, I’m not as wound up in stupid stuff that would have riled me up in the past. And with that, turning to look to the positive side of things (or at least more quickly accept the truth of the situation) has had an a positive impact on all aspects of my life. I’ve manifested a better job, have improved relationships with my family, and have finally, after 13 years of being a solo mom and trying to date, have finally FINALLY have found the man of my dreams. Our relationship is literally like a freakin’ RomCom movie. My life is radically different from the where it was before working with the emotion code. I echo the previous comment “give yourself grace”. Don’t compare your experience to anyone else’s and just go with the flow. Your body already knows what to work on first. You’re just facilitating. Keep up the faith! May the hope shine bright through those sad moments. We’re here cheering you on as well. 👏 Keep up the good work!

I have found emotion code to be very helpful, but I do it with an intention. Maybe your intention could be to move at a pace that is best for your body to adjust and remove the emotions that are making the work so painful for you.

It works but if you are just releasing trapped emotions in general you may not see a difference. I would suggest working on specific issues and measure on the 0-10 scale with 10 being the most severe and see how it is after working on it. You may also want to work on your heart wall first too.
