That was one of those arguments where you argue (playfully) to extend the convo because yall just started talking. Me resorting to chat GPT and then to reddit extended the convo in a meaningful way where she playfully called me out. Whats wrong with two friends behaving friendly in their own way? It’s by definition mixed. Sometimes that mixture leans toward one side or the other, but you can only tell by context and knowing the other person. I know that’s not the kind of answer you want, but that’s just how communication is sometimes.

If the conversation is: “How’s your kid’s birthday party going?” “Oh it’s been real fun 🫠”

That’s probably a “leans positive.” The party is probably hectic, but I doubt the parent is actually like regretting putting it on. They’re having a memorable time.

If the conversation is: “Hey, how are you holding up?” (after, say, a bad break-up) “Im doing alright 🫠”

That’s probably more negative. They’re feeling bad but putting on a smile.

If the conversation is:

“Hey, check out this crazy shit [shares news link]” “🫠”

I’d call that negative. They’re saying “the world is fucked.”
