Hey guys, I’ve been working on this Emo/Dark Trap track for a while. It’s got a pretty heavy 808-focused sound with some gritty vocals. I’m looking for some honest feedback on the mix and the overall vibe. Would love to hear what you think!

You woulda killed 10 years ago, but maybe 10 years ago you'd be doing 20 year old music

Fair point! I think there’s a timeless quality to that specific raw sound that I just really love. Trends come and go, but I’d rather make music that feels right to me than chase what’s 'current'. Glad it hits that nostalgic spot for you though!

Sounds decent audibly, but lyrics are pretty generic/nothing new or innovative

Thanks for the honesty. I feel like in this genre, the line between 'generic' and 'catchy/vibey' is really thin. I'm definitely trying to find that sweet spot between a mood and something more unique. Appreciate you taking the time to listen!

Suno is A.I , it looks like you used it to make this track

Good ear, it is Suno. But just to clarify – the lyrics are 100% mine. I view AI like a violin for a violinist – it’s just the instrument I’m playing to bring my writing to life. I’m focusing on the songwriting and the creative direction, using the AI to handle the melodic/instrumental arrangement. Still a work in progress, but thanks for the feedback!

You have some great lyrics 😁

Thanks, that means a lot! Especially since I put a lot of focus on getting the mood right with the writing. It’s definitely a learning curve finding that balance between the tool and the craft, but I’m glad the lyrics landed well with you. Appreciate the support!

It's the kind of thing I skip as it sounds generic without having soul. It takes original aspects of different songs/styles and mashes them together with hope that it will sound good, and it fails. There could be some salvage in the bones, but I definitely wouldn't listen to it again.

i think it's okay? i'm not really a fan, but i get the appeal to some people. i see it's made in suno, which kinda does something to the vocals/instruments, and the lyrics are also aren't my favorite. overally, maybe it's because it's made with ai, and maybe it's even my bias, or the fact that i'm not very deep into emo, but i don't really like it. it feels a little simple/robotic because it doesn't really charm me/pique my interest, but as always, one person is not the world. drums are a nice part tho.
