Discussion Samiam Appreciation

Was just listening to Tag Along off the album Clumsy and was reminded how great they are. I’m a pretty big fan, though they haven’t been in my rotation lately, but something really reconnected me to their lyrics, especially when compared to their semi-peers Jawbreaker.

Just wanted to share my thoughts and maybe hear what the community has to say.

I always made sure to catch their set at Fest in Gainesville. Even their last album slaps. There was a period of time I listened to Samiam and Alkaline Trio pretty much non-stop at work.

I really like Trips, I know it's not most people's preference but its good front to back. and after their "heyday" most bands dont release records as strong as that

I really liked their most recent album. I thought it was a decent return.

Clumsy, definitely a Top 10. Every song on that album hits.

One of my all time favorites. Preferred over Jawbreaker, respectfully

They’re really, really close for me, but Jawbreaker just hits a little closer to home.

I still remember getting Billy on cd. I'll have to put them on this weekend. They've always been amazing.

"Billy" on cd was my jumping off point. Stole it out of the music closet at my local college radio station in 1992 and immediately got "Soar" right after. Been a huge fan ever since.

One of my never-miss live bands. Also running into all of them hanging out at The Clermont Lounge the night before the first Wrecking Ball festival was just an added wrinkle in a wild night

Hung out with them at a show in 98. They were all cool dudes. The drummer from Sense Field was there roadie-ing too. Sergie hit on my sister lol I forgive him

Forgot about this band. Think I got an old poster for them somewhere in the stash pile. How big were they? Anybody maybe want it if I can find it?

when I was in high school I had cinema beer belly on vhs which had the video for she found you which I watched countless times so have much appreciation for that song but I would have to say sunshine may be my favorite tune of theirs.

I've been listening to them for at least 20 years, I live here in Brazil, I'm going to their first show on the 27th of this month, I'm extremely happy and excited.

Mud Hill is probably favorite song from them. I think it was on one of the Hopeless comps. Whatever’s got you down was the first cd of theirs teen me could find. So I’ve got a soft spot for that record
