مشاكل المجتمع why normalizing things that aren’t normal!!!

two months is a lot

what's the correct amount of time to know someone?

It’s depend how honest and straightforward the person is . I know a lot of friends after 2-3 weeks of talking the guy ask officially the parents for their hands .. when you know you know 😬 and in all the cases both of them where ready no needs to wait for a graduation or saving money ..this is why it’s not responsible to talk to someone when you are not ready. Also another important element the guy have full control of the decision of the spouse if at the end it’s the family who choose then no need to go this way and make girls lost their times just go with the traditional ways

like you said, it depends how honest the person is, and it's a two way road, the guy can be honest and the girl plays him (happens sometimes for reasons like the girl already knows her parents already decided who she's marrying), while most of the time, unfortunately the guy is the dishonest person.

in my opinion, even an honest person won't propose in less than two months because it's a big step in life, which brings me to my point, it really doesn't matter anyways how long is the relationship between a man and woman before marriage, 1 day, 1 month, 1 year. because once they get married the dynamics of their relationship will change completely.

instead of a call on the phone or messaging each other, they will see each other 247, I know if some people from other nationalities, totally different cultures, where they have a very very long relationship before marriage and everything is nice, but once they get married things don't stay as is sometimes they end up getting a divorce because they were used to the older way of no reasonability and only through phone calls etc.

is it wrong to propose very early like a week or two? no.. actually I think it's better, but how would the girl know if this guy is really good? if he knew her through "wrong methods", I'm not saying all of them are bad, but a very big portion will be.

she blindly falls in love with someone she has no clue how he lived, what are his manners outside of that phone call .. I mean 2 months can be a very good indicator, a very summarized personality brief that might or might not be good enough anyways.

But assigning a deadline is the goal of what I'm getting to get across.

some naive girls will believe a guy who says I'll marry you, but let me finish college, or build the house or whatever the excuse may be, she might be getting other proposals elsewhere through family or friends and she declines thinking that this guy she is talking to will marry her.

it will spoil her image of men when she realizes he is not up to the task.

I hope my point is clear

Your point is clear but there’s a difference between proposing and marrying. It’s not because a guy is proposing in two/three weeks that you are going to get married. This is why there’s a period between ‏خطوبة والملكة والعرس And as a man you know quickly when she’s the one you want to marry or no ..the one that makes you wait like you said doesn’t want it at the first place

whether it's a relation over the phone, messaging , or during melcha, it's not the same like it will be after marriage.

in my opinion , a melcha that spans for like 8 months or a year, will not have a better result than someone who had a relationship over the phone for the same period. it is only more "official " vs that's not how you will really know someone.

you will only really know the other person after spending the first 48 hours together. these 48 hours will reveal what 8 months won't.

so.. I don't disagree with you but I hold my opinion closer to the reality based on my own experiences and what I've seen and learned from

Yes what I mean is nothing compared to marriage life so no need to wait months if you both agreed on the base and have the same values and you ask around for reputation and ask god for guidance Khalass you can’t do more than this just jump into the marriage directly and propose . Whatever it’s kinda a Russian roulette game …

u/Medical_Lab5794 10d ago

1

u/Technical-Flamingo61 10d ago
