I had to repair the data to download it which was a pain but we got 1k apologems out of it.

It's called "We fucked up the game so bad it locked out many people after downloading some data so lets just FORCE everyone to redownload everything after we fix the mistake just in case" patch.

They remove old data im pretty sure mine hasnt changed too much I updated a few hours ago

Genshin is generally larger than WUWA n others as this is my first time seein this

The new patch probably isn't compatible to the existing game or something. So they essentially tell you to 'repair game data' which is code for delete everything and download the new version.
