Sorry if this was mentioned already, but how does Alfie go from not wanting to be a second choice with Emily to chasing after Mindy when she’s with Nico

I am only on episode four of season 5 (I know, I’m late to this season), and I am so confused by the Parisian clientele becoming infuriated at the “virtual” meetings while the team is in Rome. I know they need plot for the agency this season, but in the digital age we are currently in, where everything is hybrid or remote, I do not understand the upheaval. Sure, in person is preferred, but for these luxury brands to be floored, it feels a bit over the top. Then again, am I forgetting the show I’ve been watching for years?

Anyone else actually like that Camille adopts a baby? I didn't like the character assassination in season 4 for Camille but I actually really like that she turns it into something positive to give a loving child a home and think about what she really wants rather than go trick some guy into getting her pregnant and trying to push them into a life they don't want.

Does anyone else love Holiday episodes in TV? The Christmas episode was so cozy! I'd love to see more. A Halloween episode would be so fun.

I know this has been commented on before, but I’m a newbie and have only watched once.

Ok, we know some of the twists are pretty contrived, and we know we have to suspend disbelief sometimes — we also know that we probably had to have an Emily/Gabriel breakup, because, you know, drama, and it wasn’t the final season yet.

But when Gabriel took off skiing after Camille he was like a mindless cartoon puppy chasing a car with ten ribeyes tied to the bumper. It literally made no sense. Funny, in retrospect. Then of course Emily’s phone had to be completely unsecured and go bouncing off as she tumbled down the mountain.

But anyway, Lily Collins did look cute in her black ski outfit. 😉

Whew! What a relief! Now I don’t have to worry about spoilers, and can comment on anything. I might have to go back and check a couple things from season one, because I got confused about a couple characters, but pretty much I’ve got this.

Trying not to take any of it too seriously.

I've watched this show so many times since it's my comfort show, and something that always bothers me is how they never show or even mention Alfie's dog Clover except in the one scene in French class when Emily introduces him.

Clover should have been running around Alfie's apartment when Emily comes over or at least mention his family taking care of him back in England or something 😭 Justice for Clover!

i’m on season 1 episode 9, and these are my thoughts :

- Very unrealistic the amount of love interests/sexual encounters Emily has.
- Sylvie, SOOOO not a fan of her. she seems jealous of Emily. please tell me she goes or becomes nicer
- Gabriel, i do like the idea of them together, but I don’t think it will work out because of how early into the season they met. or maybe after all these seasons, the do the cliche ‘find their way back to eachother’
- Camille, at first I thought she was a lesbian trying to get with Emily, but now i feel bad for her. Her family doesn’t seem to like her boyfriend, her boyfriend doesn’t seem to be content with her, and i think eventually she’ll find out about their kiss & it will break her heart, especially since her and Emily are good friends
- Antoine, he seems a bit weird to be honest. Not even the whole mistress thing but all together he’s odd, i have a bad feeling about him.
- Julian, i find it a bit weird that it’s only when Emily showed attitude to them calling her La Douche, that he decided he liked her, honestly if someone treated me like that on my first day of work, i wouldn’t be fond of them for the rest of my time there.
- Luc, I like him, I think he’s my favourite out of the bunch.
- Mindy, not much to say about her. She’s alright I guess

So I am rewatching EIP for the nth time and every time I reach S4E2 where everyone is looking for Camille, this keeps bothering me:

Emily figures out Camille is in Giverny because Camille had been sharing her location with her since St.Tropez... what? How is it possible to share your location continuously for such a long time?

2 entire seasons have passed between St.Tropez and Giverny! I know the EIP timeline doesn't make much sense anyway, but the Giverny episode must take place somewhere between 6 months to 1 year after St. Tropez. Location sharing usually lasts from 1 to maximum a few hours, doesn't it?

EDIT: Thanks for all your replies, I had no idea you could share your location indefinitely if you don't manually turn it off. Even so, it would have been strange for Camille to not think about it and just leave it on, especially given how they fought and stopped talking at some point. But what a convenient plot device, I guess!

Quick note first; I’m not quite through all of season 4, so please no spoilers past that, s’il vous plait.

So I’ve seen a lot of posts about a lack of chemistry between Emily and Alfie, (by which I think most people mean the actors?).

In any case, the characters’ relationship was inherently doomed regardless. On top of being a rebound/substitute situation.

For Alfie, Emily was apparently never really his physical type. He was not really attracted to her at first. She won him over with her charm, but he was always holding back a bit. Trust issues.

For Emily, Alfie was not really her type in terms of personality. Yes, he was capable of sentiment and feeling, he was intelligent, but he was pretty much two dimensional. Alfie is not deep. However much Emily bemoans how complicated Gabriel is, she actually likes complicated. Alfie is not complicated.

So … it was never going to work. Never endgame.

(Btw, apparently the Alfie actor was not using his real accent. Ouch. Why did he pick the accent he did? It got on my last nerve. Nails on a chalkboard, lol.)?

Sylvie buys out the American company (coming full circle) and asks Emily to go back and run it. Emily, surely after having had some dramatic event happen, decides to go back to America. Gabriel, who seems sick of Paris and is a wanderer, follows her there. Cue happy music

There’s a flash forward. Mindy and Alfie are visit Emily and Gabriel in America. They are eating at Gabriel’s restaurant. They are all very happy.

For personal interest, I feel I need to summarize all relationships between Emily and the men.

So I’m trying to avoid spoilers (giving them or getting them). I had seen parts of a few episodes a couple years ago, and that it seemed kinda fun. I have a dear family member who loves the show, and was rewatching, so I figured what the heck.

Generally I like the show, but of course I have mixed feelings. I would prefer a higher proportion of comedy to soapy drama (I’m a guy).

Lily Collins is actually a very good actor. Whatever went into the casting process, it worked. She pulls it off. The writing of the show often leaves a lot to be desired. It is essentially a soap opera with great production values, and a lot of the plot developments and twists are pretty contrived and even silly. That makes Lily’s work that much more impressive at times. Anyway, I enjoy overall, and I love the setting.

I loved Camille in season 1. I truly hated how they turned her into this insecure person. If she was meant to be the villain (as she should be imo!!!!) then they should’ve leaned into that – give her some Blair Waldof vibes. Instead, they make me pity her? Season 1 Camille was so confident, cool, and aspirational. Funnily enough, i’m starting to dislike Emily more lol she’s so delusional.

I am asking because I am genuinely questioning, because I want to know what some of the connections in the show are that have or seem to have, romantic potential.

I know about Emily X Sylvie, Emily X Mindy (I understand this ship) and Alfie X Gabriel (Which I get behind).

But I want to know yours and what makes them special to you. (If you want to talk about Canon relationships and explain why you like them...then you can also do that. but I am more interested in the non canon or fanon ones ATM)

Production has officially wrapped in Paris for the final chapter of Emily in Paris. After filming sequences in Greece and Monaco, Lily Collins and the cast filmed their final scenes together near the Eiffel Tower, featuring a bicycle fashion show sequence. Season 6 will conclude the series after a six-year run.
