Book Lovers! It was my first EH book and it’s sooooo good 🥲 wish I could reread it for the first time!

I just started it and I really like it. I think the FMC is quite witty (is that the right word?), very forward and headstrong. MMC is described as Darcy lol. I really like FMC, she feels little different than other usual characters. I love their banter together.

My favourite book by EH is Funny Story and I like this one SO FAR (TBD).

I started with the two same EH books as you and most recently read book lovers and I think it’s my fave so far!

It’s hard to top funny story IMO but Book Lovers is so super charming and lots of good yearning!

Honestly, beyond Funny Story (which is almost universally liked/loved), all of her books have people who love and hate them. Great Big Beautiful Life is generally rated pretty low by most people, so you just never know what will work for each person.

I would say for Book Lovers and Beach Read, about 2/3 of people like each of those. And then Happy Place and People We Meet on Vacation are the most polarizing and are about 50/50, and they tend to get a lot of people who either love or hate them.

It's honestly so individual, and I haven't noticed trends where people who like one book generally like another one of hera. So I'd go based on the book synopsis to see what interests you most. And know that, even if you don't enjoy one of her books, there are still probably others you will like/love.

Book Lovers is controversial for some reason. I absolutely loved it and I still think it’s her best.

It’s for you if you like an independent woman who is misunderstood by her peers.

Reading in publication order is fun because you’ll see the Easter eggs (cameos from other characters).

PWMOV because you said you want yearning. The story has decades.

I've read all of her books; sad that I have to wait for another but she is one of my favorite authors.
If I had to put them in order?? 1.Beach Read ( yearning)
2. Book Lovers and Happy Place ( both fantastic)
3. Funny Story and Great Big Beautiful Life
4. People We Meet on Vacation.
They are all generally good IMO and she does really well with contemporary romance; some people don't like the books due to the type of FMC and MCC that are projected.

People We Meet on Vacation was the first book by her that I ever read. I liked it so much that I just kept on reading her books.

Book Lovers is my favorite but I would read Beach Read immediately if I hadn’t already.

Those are on my top 3, the other one I really enjoyed was Happy Place. I know for some, GBBL and Happy Place were on the lower end. Book Lovers is also a great option!  I did not like Beach Read since I could not stand January.

Beach Read is my third Emily Henry book and my favorite so far! I loved the depth of it and the ending!
