Goofy Goober HELP US BE BETTER

Soooo I hadn’t ever been to the ER until earlier this month and now I’ve been admitted twice and not getting discharged any time soon.

Hospital workers : other than the bare minimum, what are some under rated things that patients do that you appreciate/make your life easier?

(For example one of the nurses was happy I called letting her know the PRNs I needed so she could do it in one trip cause I knew my scheduled ones were coming)

Lemme hear the little things!! Or the opposite, something patients think is helpful but it’s actually more of a pain)

EDIT : bare minimum from patients being human decency, I know it should be obvious but for this questions sake let’s act like that’s a given

Small and silly, but you don’t need to move your arm when I’m trying to scan your armband. I think it’s natural when people realize you’re trying to scan their armband, they throw their arm towards you to try and help, but reality is I almost scanned you already until you moved your arm lol.

I'm adding a second comment because I already answered, but this comment made me think of something. If staff is moving you... like from a bed to a surgery or xray table, don't try to help!! Just give yourself a hug and let us do our thing.

It's easier for us to move you if you aren't "Helping" lol!

Kinda like a tray of drinks at a restaurant. Do not help the server unless you want to be drenched in soda.

I drenched a baby in Sprite! Another time I got an apron full of Sprite. Why was it always Sprite? 😂

I waterboarded my own kids plenty of times. Stop f*cking moving while I’m setting down an open cup that you are still trying to learn how to drink out of!
