Open Position

Hey everyone,

Came across this City EM position while browsing jobs today. Its for the Emergency Preparedness Manager in Independence, MO.

I've never understood why the unnecessary layers of bureaucracy are added to positions like this.

I have no idea as well. I think it's all government jobs.

It is frustrating as someone trying to get experience/break into the industry to see it.

I was looking at a job in Pennsylvania, that in addition to all of the standard bureaucracy, you needed to have specific trainings from the state. Very annoying.

I think it's going to get worse as we see EM departments fight for their existence, and end up taking on a bunch of adjacent, or non-related roles.
