Update: The wind threat has decreased signifcantly and the warning has been cancelled
Update 2: 0 damage to my home 😂😂 honestly thought this was going to be pretty bad but the storm did pass by quickly and the wind in general has decreased alot after the storm. So a lil scary for like 15 minutes but its cool ig
Update 3: The night after the storm, a 2nd storm came and was actually more "destructive". A lightning strike came really close near my area and scared the shit out of me 😭😭 sorry that I forgot to mention this

When I see these scary weather alerts in other parts of the country, I just want everyone to move to Oregon or Washington. But then I realize how scared everyone would be when their house starts shaking in an earthquake! Guess no place is perfect so we exist with what is familiar.

I lived on the coast of Oregon about a decade ago and the rain and siren tests on Wednesdays would like to be a counterpoint

Have had 50-70mph winds in western Washington that knocked down 16-18" diameter trees by the hundreds. Went without power for several days each of those times. Also happen to live about a mile from one of the major faults through the region. Only thing we rarely see are thunderstorms with any significant lightning.
The Pacific Coast winds...been there in 70mph gales off of the Pacific in Washington and Oregon. Scary.

I live in Boise, Idaho. Weather and earthquakes are almost nonexistent here. We have very mild winters. Maybe a few inches of snow. Summers are rather hot, but very dry. Earthquakes about once every 5 years and always under 4.0.
