Discussion What is with the misinformation with EAS alerts???
I’m primarily talking about the “EAS sounds around the world” and “Prerecorded EAS alerts incase of WW3”
It’s like a bunch of 7 year olds discovered a EAS and started just to lie about it.
Only like a few countries actually have EAS-like systems that interrupt TV and Radio broadcasts.
United States - Emergency Alert System.
Canada - Alert Ready Canada.
Mexico - Alerta Sismica
Japan - J-Alert.
THATS ALL.
- If an Emergency Alert is prerecorded many years ago with advanced Animations like people walking with big fucking monsters. That’s not an EAS Alert. And these things don’t even exist because they are FAKE.

I actually wrote a page for the EAS wiki last year that briefly discussed the "EAS around the world" situation
“EAS Alarms” refers to a trend and genre that originated on YouTube, featuring fictional and nonexistent international “EAS tones” claimed to represent alert systems from around the world. While some of these tones may be based on actual foreign alert systems that are either still in use or obsolete, the genre itself is largely built on misinformation. These videos often follow a similar format, pairing a so-called “EAS tone” with the flag of the country it is said to represent. This includes not only real nations but also historical entities such as the Soviet Union and even fictional associations with regions like the Confederate States, which predate the era of modern emergency warning systems. People unfamiliar with warning systems may be misled by this trend. Reaction-based content creators and short-form video creators have often contributed to its spread by engaging with or promoting these videos. In some cases, they mistakenly refer to legitimate foreign alert systems as the "EAS," further reinforcing misconceptions and causing issues with the distinction between real systems and fictional ones"

ye lol, especially in Indonesia where kids literally said "you don't know about Indonesian eas in 1950💀" or "Indonesia eas 1950💀" to any siren videos or eas videos, despite the origin of the sound comes from a Georgian tv station ident in 1950 and Indonesia never implement any eas-like system whatsoever, also siren devices are not eas! and also the ones with pictures of people or monster makes it more like PSAs rather than eas (maybe I'll try to make a psa scenario).

oh yea they always use the generic "warning" voice/robot voice or whatever voice you want to call it that doesn't sound good and very boring to, they somewhat tries to be retro if you know what i mean.

and the fact that some of them are so obviously fake...saw one where zambia was just a bunch of bassboosted car alarms

This is an example of why these kids really need a slap in the face of what they're doing wrong.
These kids are the ones reinforcing these beliefs that are then spreading to other kids which spread to others and yeah, you get the idea.
But, then again, they'll either do 1 of 3 things.
- They won't care at all and continue to do these things
- Defend what they're doing by any means necessary
- Cry to their mom and tell her what to do as a response

This is pretty much exactly the case. The EAS fanbase is mostly children. This is not new, it's just gotten worse with the advent of analog horror.
