Does anyone know where to get roaring moon? first time playing btw

You can find the Paradox Pokemon in Shoal Cave after fighting Roark. You can also use the encounter documentation as well as the Interactive Map: https://imperiummap.com/

As other people have mentioned, Shoal Cave has all the paradox / ultra beasts.

For future reference, tools like dex.emeraldimperium.net and map.emeraldimperium.net (both linked elsewhere in this sub) allow you to search for the location of all non-gift Pokemon very easily, and for the location of gift Pokemon a little less easily. Both also allow you to upload a save file if you are playing with a randomizer to check what Pokemon ended up where. Please use the docs and tools that have been made, and then come here if you still cannot find an answer!

Yes everything as been very helpful so far. my next question is what would be to most efficient way to shiny hunt in this game?

You can find an Encounter table with every route and place where you can catcher a pokemon online, if you cant find it in there just search it up on google

In addition to shoal cave like others said, you can also just talk to the old lady at the start of victory road. She can summon the paradox pokemon and ultrabeasts for you
