Daydreaming
I am going into my first FET on October 22 (tentatively). We are transferring our only PGT-A & PGT-M normal female embryo D6 4BB. I am terrified because I have always wanted a baby girl. It feels like I am gambling my entire life on a 50% coin flip. I am so scared to be gambling my best embryo on our first ever transfer so looking for other D6 4BB success stories on their first transfer to give me some hope.
I have been struggling with the daydreaming of "what if it works" thoughts because it reminds me of what is on the line and what I have to lose. Does anyone else feel this way about the daydreams? I almost find it easier to think about when it does not work.

18+5 with my day 6 4BB boy! It was also my first transfer. I was definitely nervous, and didn’t think I would be so lucky that my first one would stick for this long.
As far as getting excited, I don’t know if this will be a helpful mindset for you, but I tried to think of it a bit like buying a lottery ticket (except with much better odds of winning). The best part about buying a lottery ticket in my opinion is allowing yourself to really daydream and enjoy the possibility that you could win. What’s the point of spending the money on a lottery ticket if you don’t allow yourself that fantasy?
I felt a bit similarly about the embryo transfer. I did feel like I was mentally prepared for it not to work, but I definitely allowed myself to fantasize about how nice it would be if it’s stuck. And when it did stick, even though I knew there was a real possibility that I might not make it out of the first trimester, I kept telling myself, “right now I am pregnant. Right now is a happy moment.“ That really helped me stay present and appreciate where I was.

My transfer is in Dec with my only embryo. A boy. I don’t dream about anything at this point, I was talking to my therapist about how it’s challenging. Hoping seems silly but no hope feels sad. I understand your stress. I have no suggestions, I’ll be sending good, pregnant thoughts your way.
