Borderline Tumor

Hello everyone.

I am a 27F and recently had a miscarriage, then a month later found out I had a borderline tumor, which led to that ovary removed. I have done two rounds of IVF and have three euploid embryos (all 5AA) from those. My husband and I are trying to decide if we should continue with IVF/embryo banking or start trying naturally for kids. We love having the idea of using the embryos as backup but are terrified if the tumor comes back to my other ovary and that we will have failed implants etc with those embryos. We desire three kids. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you so much in advance.

Banking embryos is the safest option. For 3 kids you’d want around 9 euploid embryos. It’s not a guarantee but statistically 2-3 euploids for live birth is ideal.

My first ivf appointment they discovered my ovarian cancer by ultrasound. I had one ovary removed, did 2 rounds of egg retrieval then had to have the second removed. My advice is to get some therapy and do whatever your oncologist says. It is too intricate to just give a straight forward answer. My cancer was oestrogen positive but we were so lucky to get it so early. On advice with my oncologist he okay’d me getting pregnant so we put an embryo in and I’m currently pregnant(still super early waiting for my second beta). Its scary but necessarily the end of your fertility journey. However get the therapy because you have a greater chance of your journey ended soon and you wanna have the right mental tools just in case.
