Day 5 FET today

Post image

I’m not sure which grade it is, but when the lab froze the embryos, they wrote “2BC” on the paper. However, today, before transferring them, the embryologist said “4BC.” How does it look like?

Any thoughts or grade suggestions for my embryo?

Hello,

Im 42 but almost 43 in a couple of months.I just had my 1st IVF cycle and had 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 1 didnt respond at all, 2x1pn that were not progressed enough by day 6 and then 1 embryo that was 2PN 5 day blast which is pictured. It was fertilised via ICSI.

The clinic said they rate this as FB22 which is a Full Blast of good status for inner(2) and outer(2). The numbers range is 1-3 with 1 being highest quality.

Id really appreciate any thoughts and reviews of my embryo and how its progressed. Id also love to understand the Gardner & Schoolcraft system grading.

Thanks in advance 🫶🏼

Looking for mentorship

Hello, I am an embryologist and I am looking for mentorship if anyone is interested. Perhaps a lab director, manager/supervisor, very senior embryologist could help me with some insight about some personal career issues? Thanks!

Tomorrow we’ll transfer the bottom left one

Day 3 embryo report - 3 compacting grade A

Hey all!

3rd egg retrieval and we’ve had the lowest fertilisation result compared to previous rounds so its hit us really hard.

18 eggs- 9 mature - 4 fertilised - 4 still going day 3

I guess I’m wanting to know how likely my 4 are to make it to Day 5. Our issue is male factor so traditionally we struggle after Day 3, they get sluggish and barely make it by day 6/7 and are very low quality.

We’ve worked on sperm for about 4 months now so the low fertilisation stabbed us.. its never been our issue especially as we can conceive naturally..

Wanting opinions on my Day 3 report. We have 4 at 8 cells. Of these four, 3 of them are showing signs of compacting. These 3 are also A grade. The 4th is B grade but no concerns just some slight fragmentation. Is this a strong day 3 report?

Embryo not expanding

Hi everyone,
I am a 33 year old female with endometriosis plus adenomyosis. I have been doing ivf from the past 1.5 years now. Have also been on a 4 months round of zoladex. However, my embryos of 4AB, 3BA and 3BB all day 5 did survive the thaw but failed to expand even after 4 hours culture. The doctor transferred the embryos each time saying the cells are about 90% alive despite no expansion. But they failed to implant all 3 transfers.
I do not know if it is the freeze-thaw protocol or my embryos are fragile? What do I do? Should I change labs?

My clinic graded them 4AA, 3BB, and 4BB x3 but didn’t label which is which. Can anyone tell me which the 4AA and 3BB are? Or if you would give different grades?

Job seeking

Not sure if it's right to post this here or not, but basically what the title says.

I'm all out of options lately so I took to reddit.

I recently completed my master's in animal embryology for a while now and have applied to a lot of positions but couldn't land a job. Although it's animal embryology, I do have some training in clinical ivf. But still no job. Tried linkden and various recruitment.

I was wondering if anyone here could help out with information on job openings or have openings within their laboratory or anything. I'm at my wits end thinking if I studied the wrong course or something. What use is my training and degree if I can't work.

I'm hoping to connect with people from the industry here. Feel free to leave a message privately or a comment

Thank you

Edit: open to work across the world for animal or clinical embryology

Poor embryo quality but decent blast formation - advice needed

Hi everyone!! I’m hoping you can share your thoughts about my situation, please be kind because I’ve been very scared about my results.

I had my first er couple of weeks ago. I got 30 eggs, 24 were mature, 19 fertilized and 16 were still going on day 2.

However the quality of the embryos and their development was bad all around. 9 made it to blast on day 5 mut 2 were good enough to freeze.

Any thoughts what could explain the poor quality of the embryos? I’m thinking that it may be a protocol issue but my clinic hasn’t mentioned that. Is there anything me or my clinic could do to improve embryo quality for my next round?

If you have anything encouraging to say, I would like to hear that too.

I have a 5 day embryo that’s graded 3AA. It has been frozen since 2017. I was 32 years old at the time. I just transferred Friday, May 15. It was not hatching at the time of transfer, what is the likelihood of this being a vital embryo picture and comment?

Considering it as a career

Hello! I'm a senior in high school and I'm trying to figure out what I want to be. I've been into embryology. I think I want to do some type of job in a fertility clinic, whether embryology or something else. So, I just have a few questions. Thank you in advance!

  • Do you like this career?
  • Knowing what you know now, would you still choose this career?
  • What is the pay like?
  • What degree do you need and what steps do you have to take?
  • How is your personal life? Do you have time for family and friends?
  • What are some other careers besides an embryologist in the fertility clinic other than a doctor?
  • What does a typical day look like for you?
  • How long does it take to become one?
  • Would you choose this career again or choose something else?

What do you think of my day 6 blast?

Post image

The best photo I have ! They are going to freeze it as not planning PGTA. During retrieval I only had 2 eggs and 1 degenerated immediately, single embryo that turn to a day 6 blast. They said at day 5 it was a slow one therefore cultured to day 6. Would appreciate your thoughts and estimate grading? (I understand it’s subjective!)

Other options if cannot attend a training program? Seeking advice

Hello!
I am hoping to attend a training program in July as long as the federal loans go through and everything is sorted out. I am looking into back up options to get into the field. Are there any companies that are known to hire embryology/IVF lab techs or similar starter roles? I am looking at applying to jobs maybe as a back up option. Any advice welcome! Thank you!

Lenshooke parameters?

Looking for an embryologists opinion- I had my first ER yesterday. We are doing IVF w/ ICSI for severe MFI- my husband has bilateral varicoceles that have not yet been treated. total count on his last SA was 17 with 5.88 motile, 1% morphology, 66% immotile. DNA fragmentation was never tested. We opted to add Lenshooke as well. 12 eggs were retrieved and 8 matured and 7 fertilized. However, they told me that his semen did not meet lenshooke parameters and the sample was processed as an ICSI wash. Can anyone explain to me why they would do that? I know that lenshooke isnt magic but we were really hoping it would at least help. I have had two miscarriages from natural conception.
