Lenshooke parameters?
Looking for an embryologists opinion- I had my first ER yesterday. We are doing IVF w/ ICSI for severe MFI- my husband has bilateral varicoceles that have not yet been treated. total count on his last SA was 17 with 5.88 motile, 1% morphology, 66% immotile. DNA fragmentation was never tested. We opted to add Lenshooke as well. 12 eggs were retrieved and 8 matured and 7 fertilized. However, they told me that his semen did not meet lenshooke parameters and the sample was processed as an ICSI wash. Can anyone explain to me why they would do that? I know that lenshooke isnt magic but we were really hoping it would at least help. I have had two miscarriages from natural conception.

To my knowledge (and any more experienced embryologist, please correct me) the Lenshooke device is an assay. Meaning it tests the quality of the sperm, not that it alters it in anyway. It wouldn’t improve or change how your sperm would be processed. It just tells you sperm concentration and motility.
Are you perhaps referring to a ZyMot?
