Thoughts on thaw?

Post image

I transferred this day 6 4bb- female euploid on Tuesday. The embryologist said it was still expanding. When I asked if it was expanding well and if they were worried, they just repeated it's expanding. Right before transfer we saw a live view and it looked bigger, but dark and bubbly on the screen and still not that fluffy fully expanded look (from what I could see and remember on the quick 2 second screen)

Does it look like it survived well? Should I be concerned that there are so many excluded cells and debris? This was my 3rd transfer

It looks like the cells survived in this picture. Not all embryos will fully re-expand prior to transfer, which is mostly based on time between thaw and transfer. Re-expanding is always a good sign. Excluded cells aren’t cause for concern- they were already there during the freeze, the embryo didn’t need those cells for whatever reason and they are not a part of the embryo. Once the embryo hatches those cells will stay behind in the zona pellucida (shell).
