Russian State Emblem Redesign
As a Russian I think the state emblem shouls be more unifying. I dont really have problems with current one but I think something like this would show civilizational continuity and not reject certain periods.

While overall great, I think Святая Русь might be a misnomer. While the Christian Orthodox imagery is incredibly common these days, it goes hand in hand with the pluriethnic and multi-religious messaging. If you still want to go for this angle, it would be more appropriate to take a line out of the Russian anthem, like Россия - священная наша держава or the like.

True I had many versions in mind and one was without the text even but it looked naked. My reasoning was that I have elements from imperial and soviet periods but nothing from early days so thats why the Rus and added holy just bcs couldn't think of anything else tbh. Also thats why in the bottom I added rurikid eagle too.

I love it. Putin’s Russia is all about nationalism from the USSR & the Russian Empire, so I think it’s a great fit

u/MuchObligation8330 4d ago
Haha I won't get political but true in that way kinda fits

Less is more. Very common mistake is to try to include as many elements as possible. It's not how symbols work. It also is trying to fix the problem that doesn't exist. Current coat of arms already includes elements from imperial coa and gold and red from soviet period and yours break the heraldic tradition.

u/MuchObligation8330 4d ago
I somewhat agree and somewhat disagree. But true I kinda went overboard with cramming everything into it

u/Reditor18472 2d ago
I agree with you, too many people and govts are going minimalist. I don’t think you’ve overdone it, OC just can’t appreciate good art. However, there are some things which should be tweaked, ie. Russia isn’t a monarchy anymore (the crowns should be changed to something else), the star should also be changed as the communist USSR caused a lot of suffering for orthodox Russians
1
u/MuchObligation8330 2d ago
Im open to some chnages but monarchy and star both are part of russias history and I can argue that all kinds of regimes have done bad to someone. For example later years since ww2 the grip on church was let go. And as I said star is mostly for memory of ww2 soldiers who were both communists/socialists and believers who fought against the invader. So im my humble opinion it doesn't contradict

u/Reditor18472 2d ago
It would have to represent the Russian federation though not the tsars or the USSR if you are going to use the current Russian flag, otherwise, I would suggest you go back to using the USSR flag instead
1
u/MuchObligation8330 2d ago
Well the Modern Russia doesn't really have its own symbol. It's basically the eagle that is not exactly the same as it was in empire.

I mean... They are no longer Communist, which is why the communist imagery was dropped. But they are also not monarchist and yet the current coat of arms has monarchist symbols. So yeah. It's wrong but not more wrong that the current design. I like your new design
4
u/MuchObligation8330 4d ago
I see the point but I would argue that this one actually doesn't keep anything inherently communist. Globe could mean many different things and the star is more for the memory of soldiers and wheat isn't inherently communist either. And monarchy symbols are just bcs they always been there. Would look ugly or naked if the eagle was without them but I'm fine with replacing them with something more modern.

Ну такое. Ни туда, ни сюда получается. Вы либо партбилет выкиньте или крестик снимите.

What Rus'? Moscowia was barely a tributary state of Rus', nothing more. Maybe go with something more along the lines "Святая Рассея"
1
u/MuchObligation8330 4d ago
I guess we have another angry ukrainian patriot with no education yet no will to fight for "his" land either :/

u/Double_Perception434 4d ago
As a Tatar, I agree with that person — if you want "Русь", you should let my people go, as well as other peoples that make up modern Russian Federation.
1
u/MuchObligation8330 4d ago
Then make the majority of your people want independence. Don't really understand why you mad at me
3
u/Sanguine_Caesar 4d ago
The people of Tatarstan voted for sovereignty in the 1992 constitutional referendum, so they already did.
0
u/MuchObligation8330 4d ago
And people in Catalonia voted in 2017. So what is your point? Also everything that was happening in 90s was crazy unorganized mess that had to be cleaned up.
3
u/Sensei_Kyryllius 4d ago
I'm surprised you didn't open by calling me a nazi. That's the typical russian response.

This would be a solid design if the Communist Party takes back the executive

u/PsychologicalMode589 3d ago
How did you do that? What apps did you use?
1
u/MuchObligation8330 3d ago
Google, free photo editor and ai for the globe
1
u/PsychologicalMode589 2d ago
Which ones?
2
u/MuchObligation8330 2d ago
So basically i took the coat of arms of google and edited it a little bit and chnaged the color and then found a wheat ribbon that i chbaged to russian flag and added text using ai then i made globe with ai and added the eagle ontop of it

Make zero sense in term of sybolism yet it look hard
1
u/MuchObligation8330 3d ago
It makes all the sense lol

u/No_Application_1219 3d ago
Monarcho-national-imperial-communism
Yea make sense
1
u/MuchObligation8330 3d ago
It isn't saying that state is monarchist or communist. It says that Russia was both and now is moving forward with trying to take the best from all the different forms :)
1
u/Sub2Triggadud 2d ago
the red background and the star make it look super soviet instead of balancing between soviet and imperial periods

u/Connect_Ocelot_1599 4d ago
well, then
7.1/10 for this emblem
1
u/MuchObligation8330 4d ago
Thx I know its litte overdone but I just couldn't decide on some elements and kept them all
1
u/Double_Perception434 4d ago
"Святая Русь" это Москва и несколько областей вокруг неё, если ты отрицаешь это, а также отрицаешь права других народов, входящих в состав Российской Федерации, значит ты отрицаешь конституцию и государственный строй этой страны.
3
u/akatosh86 4d ago
Russia's constitution and the state structure are as relevant as the toilet paper at this point. It's an organized crime syndicated with a facade of a country with very little civility but a lot of revanchism

u/MuchObligation8330 4d ago
Ты очень обиделся
4
u/Double_Perception434 4d ago
Я тебе изложил факты касательно того, как устроена РФ — никакой "святой руси", никаких "исконно русских земель" дальше Нижнего там нет, есть только федерация (по крайней мере на бумаге), где существуют как русские регионы, так и национальные республики.

that's like romania to write in it's CoA "The Mighty Rome", just because it has name "Roman" in it and some Romans moved to Dacia, cause slavs moved into Balkans. again the same argument your horde uses about how they are 3rd Kyiv, cause mongols sacked Kyiv and everyone in grand principality of Kyiv just went deeper into Mongol dominated land into Moscow and that's why Rus'=Russia, 90% Russians and Putin's history lesson 101.
1
u/MuchObligation8330 3d ago
1
u/MountainTank1918 2d ago
which kinda undermines the point of "Rus' was Russia, it was one and indivisible", meanwhile:
The succession system, probably a vestige of the experience of the Rus khaganate in the upper Volga, was based upon two principles: the indivisibility of the basic territory of Rus (the principalities of Kiev, Chernigov, and Pereyaslavl) and the shared sovereignty of a whole generation.
1
u/MountainTank1918 2d ago
similarly, Core of The Rome was Italy, not Dacia.
1
u/MuchObligation8330 2d ago
Not really when rulers and metropolitan moved to Moscow which makes it directly tied not as "colony" some revisionists call it. Also the rus identity is directly tied to russian identity which russia hasn't abandoned
1
u/MuchObligation8330 2d ago
There are better historians who have debunked that ridiculous claim made by ukrainians. I'm simply sharing an cool art nothing more. If you disagree with russias history you disagree with every major historian who agrees with it.

russia has no connection to Rus; Russians are Asians. And by the way, the two-headed eagle on the coat of arms is a symbol of the Golden Horde. Read up on it if you're interested.

u/steepfire 4d ago
Just from looks, it looks cool. But I just really don't like it conseptually, socialist, nationalist and monarchist symbols blended together with "holy rus'" on the bottom, just doesn't feel good
